Football fans could be forgiven for disbelieving then-Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady when he announced his retirement on Feb. 1.
After all, hadn’t Brady just retired on Feb. 1, 2022, only to reverse course on March 13, just 40 days later? It seemed like Brady had fallen into a cycle of retirement and unretirement, not unlike Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre once upon a time.
However, on Monday, Brady did something crucial to seemingly slam the door shut on a potential return: he bought an ownership stake in the Raiders.

The Jets had an eventful practice on Tuesday, as their two biggest offseason acquisitions appeared to deal with injuries. First, quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a strained calf that kept him out of the session, although he claimed it wasn’t serious. Then, wide receiver Allen Lazard went down in some pain, but was able to return.
After practice, Lazard revealed he just took a hit in a sensitive area while on the field.
“I’m good y’all, not sure why they didn’t report that I practiced the rest of the day at 100% but I’m good lol,” he tweeted. “Just got hit in the gonads.

The Lakers will hope to retain Austin Reaves in free agency this offseason, and it seems the emerging star has hopes of remaining in Los Angeles, too.
Speaking to reporters Tuesday after L.A. was eliminated in the Western Conference finals by the Nuggets on Monday, Reaves said that he wants to remain a Laker.
“I want to be here,” Reaves said, via  Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times. “It feels like home.”
Reaves just finished the final season of his two-year, $2.

Beating Tiger Woods at something is hard to do, but Rose Zhang has officially the best college resume in men’s or women’s golf.
Rose Zhang made history again on Monday by winning back-to-back NCAA individual titles. No one in NCAA women’s golf history has ever done that before, solidifying the argument that she has had the best collegiate career ever — she’s only a sophomore too.
Zhang has done so much at Stanford and continues to prove she will be the next great player to hit the LPGA.

Michael Jordan has added a new car to his collection, and it may just be his flashiest ride yet.
The 60-year-old splashed out on a brand new Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster, a limited edition super sports car that runs up a price tag of around $3.5 million, according to The Drive. The car is best known for its sleek design and incredibly fast speed. The F5 Roadster runs on a 1,817 twin-turbocharged V8 engine, enabling its hardtop versions to hit up to a possible 311 mph of top speed. He purchased a Roadster edition, meaning he’ll have a retractable roof for his new ride.
