Before the season, St. John’s and Connecticut were seen as clearly the Big East Conference’s best men’s basketball programs.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Anthony Edwards scored 42 points and the Minnesota Timberwolves held off the injury-plagued Golden State Warriors 127-117 on Friday night.
Edwards shot 13 for 22, made all 12 of his free throws and also had eight rebounds and five assists, while Rudy Gobert contributed 18 points and nine rebounds in what coach Chris Finch considered a must-win game. The Wolves snapped a three-game skid — all of those double-digit defeats, including 153-128 at the Clippers on Wednesday — following a five-game winning streak.

UCLA is continuing their run at the Big Ten Tournament at the expense of Michigan State, defeating the Spartan 88-84 in a Friday night quarterfinal matchup.
It was an impressive performance from the Bruins, who took a first half lead an never gave it back, closing out another big time win in March.
Following the game, UCLA stars Donovan Dent and Trey Perry spoke to the media about the performance:

Perry: “Just staying calm and trusting the work and having the trust in my teammates. Even Coach, we’re in the huddle they’re saying you’re going to knock these down.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Cameron Boozer had 24 points, 14 rebounds and five assists and No. 1 Duke ran out to a 19-point halftime lead and held on to beat Clemson 73-61 on Friday night to advance to the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament championship game.
Cayden Boozer, who is starting for the injured Caleb Foster, set a career high with 16 points and Nikolas Khamenia chipped in with 14 points for the Blue Devils.
Duke (31-2) will play for its second straight ACC Tournament title and third in the last four years on Saturday night against No.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Kingston Flemings scored 21 points, fellow freshman Chris Cenac Jr. had 17 points and 14 rebounds, and fifth-ranked Houston rolled past poor-shooting and lackluster No. 14 Kansas 69-47 in the semifinals of the Big 12 Tournament on Friday night.
The second-seeded Cougars (28-5) held the third-seeded Jayhawks without a field goal for more than 10 minutes at point in the game, ultimately breezing into another championship matchup with second-ranked Arizona on Saturday night.
Houston beat the Wildcats 72-64 last year for its first Big 12 Tournament title.

Format
Since the Big 12 now has 16 teams, it’s adopted the old Big East bracket, with the top four teams receiving a double-bye to the quarterfinals (Thursday), teams 5 through 8 getting a single bye to Wednesday, and the bottom half of the league playing on Tuesday.

After top-ranked Duke survived a last-second shot by Florida State to beat the Seminoles 80-79 in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals, there were some people questioning whether or not the Blue Devils were the same team without the services of starters Caleb Foster and Patrick Ngongba.
While not having those two is not exactly ideal, Cameron Boozer and his twin brother, Cayden, came out and proved that the Blue Devils are, indeed, still national title contenders on Friday night, combining for 40 points as Duke eased past Clemson 73-61 to reach the finals on Saturday against Virginia.

Donovan Dent had 23 points and 12 assists, Trent Perry added 22 points and UCLA held off No. 8 Michigan State 88-84 in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals on Friday night despite losing star Tyler Bilodeau to a leg injury.

Between the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina and the World Baseball Classic, there’s been a ton of USA-Canada matchups in competitive sports of late.
And thanks to Team USA’s 5-3 win over Team Canada in the quarterfinal round, America remains undefeated. The USA women’s hockey team beat Canada 2-1 in overtime thanks to a Megan Keller goal to win the gold medal. Then Jack Hughes made himself a permanent American hero with his golden goal against Canada in the men’s hockey finale.

Omari Sankofa II: JB: “You don’t have bad days with these guys. Regardless of what happens, win, loss, we get mad when we lose, we get frustrated when we’re not competitive, but we’ve never had a bad day … and that’s how you grow and that’s how you find consistency.”
