João Cancelo’s stock is rising. He started a bit slowly but he has adjusted to La Liga again after spending time in Saudi Arabia. The FC Barcelona full-back has filled in admirably as the Catalans have struggled with injuries to various defenders. Now, reports say Barcelona are happy to keep him past this season.

Last month, it was confirmed that Antoine Griezmann will be leaving Atletico Madrid at the end of the season. The 35-year-old has agreed terms with MLS side Orlando City, whom he will join once the transfer window opens in the summer.
It means that Griezmann only has a handful of matches left in the Rojiblanco of Atleti, with the first of those coming on Wednesday when they face Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie.

Iowa athletics director Beth Goetz confirmed to the Des Moines Register that it is working on a contract extension with head men’s basketball coach Ben McCollum.
McCollum just led Iowa to a 24-win season and to its first Elite Eight appearance since 1987.

NEW YORK (AP) — Pinch-hitter Ronny Mauricio returned to the majors by lining a game-winning single in the 10th inning that gave the New York Mets a 4-3 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
New York (7-4) won its fourth straight game and improved to 2-2 in extra innings already this season.
Mauricio, recalled Monday from Triple-A Syracuse when slugger Juan Soto was placed on the injured list, laced an 0-2 pitch from Paul Sewald (0-2) over the head of right fielder Corbin Carroll to drive in automatic runner Francisco Lindor from third base with one out.

The Los Angeles Lakers had a big loss on their roster after Austin Reaves went down. Coach JJ Redick and Co. were up against the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road but decided to get an MRI for their guard in the next game. This meant that the Dallas Mavericks had to take care of the guard who was in pain.

Well, today was awful.

Actually, I have more to say about it. I went to bed early so I would not have to watch the game. But going to bed just after 9 PM caused me to wake at 2:15 AM.
