You really should Google Curt Cignetti if you have any doubts about the Indiana coach.
Cignetti led the Hoosiers to the national title after beating Miami on Monday night 27-21. It was one of the best national championship games in a long time.
It was electric from the opening kick through the clock hitting zero. People were quick to remember Cignetti’s epic arrival in Bloomington when he dropped one of the coldest lines in recent memory:
“I win. Google me.

North Carolina officials have released security footage showing the disgusting, low-life, scumbag thief breaking into the home owned by the late, great Greg Biffle.
Let’s get these faces PLASTERED on every street corner this side of the Mississippi, and bring these losers to justice.
For those who missed it, Biffle’s estate was broken into earlier this month. Biffle, the former NASCAR legend, died in a plane crash just days before Christmas. His wife and two children were also on the plane, which was owned by Biffle and experienced issues right after takeoff on Dec. 18.

Los Angeles Rams receiver Davante Adams wants his second shot at the Seattle Seahawks. After he only caught a one-yard touchdown on eight targets against Seattle in Week 11, Adams missed the Rams’ second regular-season match with the Seahawks in Week 16 with a hamstring injury.
Not playing in that game “crushed” him, Adams told Rams team reporter Stu Jackson, and left him feeling “helpless” as he watched from the sidelines. The Rams dominated the Seahawks for nearly four full quarters before losing in a devastating overtime battle.

The International Swimming Hall of Fame announced Tennessee diving head coach Jane Figueiredo is part of the 2026 class.
Figueiredo will be one of 11 inductees in the 2026 Hall of Fame class. She will be enshrined at the 61st Annual Honoree Induction Ceremony on May 16.
“I’m honored to be inducted into something so prestigious as the international hall of fame of swimming and diving,” Figueiredo said. “It’s a dream for athletes, for coaches, and to be inducted is an absolute privilege and thank you to all that voted for me.

Through the 2024-25 season, the Los Angeles Lakers have had a total of 506 players suit up for them, going back to their days in Minneapolis. Some were forgettable, some were serviceable, some were good and a select few were flat-out legendary.
During the Lakers’ 80th season of existence (they were founded back in 1946 as the Detroit Gems in the National Basketball League), LeBron Wire is taking a look at each player who has worn their jersey, whether it has been a purple and gold one or the ones they donned back in the Midwest during their early years.

The college football season ended Jan. 19 with Indiana‘s victory against Miami in the College Football Playoff championship game at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla.
As expected, the Hoosiers and the Hurricanes followed with a unanimous 1-2 finish, respectively, among the 62 voters in the final US LBM Coaches Poll released Tuesday morning.
That was where the agreement among coaches ended, however, as not even CFP semifinalists Oregon and Ole Miss finished in the top four across all ballots.
The Rebels, who lost to Miami in the Fiesta Bowl, were No.

Song Yadong has power, and he’s proven that many times in his UFC career.
At UFC on ESPN 45 in 2023, Song reminded everyone just how dangerous he is, even late into fights, in his bout against veteran Ricky Simon. After four competitive rounds, Song dropped Simon with a nasty left hook, and then swarmed him with ground-and-pound to secure the TKO win. It was a solid finish that won the Chinese fighter a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus.
You can watch Song’s big win over Simon in the video above.

The defeat of Paul Finebaum is now complete.
Finebaum, historically one of the most prominent SEC boosters in national media, has admitted that his favorite conference is no longer the dominant force in college football. Even before the Indiana Hoosiers won the National Championship Game on Monday night, Finebaum acknowledged that the SEC had been passed up by the Big Ten after a dismal postseason period.

The Phoenix Suns were completely screwed. The franchise’s all-in moves for Kevin Durant at the 2023 trade deadline and Bradley Beal to begin the 2024 offseason had backfired in epic fashion, resulting in just one playoff series win (with Durant only) before a first-round sweep and lottery appearance forced a hard pivot. The Suns had no choice but to trade Durant last summer coming off a 36-win season, and they followed it by waiving-and-stretching Beal, which put $19.4 million of dead money on their books for the next five years.

We’re just beyond the halfway point of the 2025-26 college basketball season, and while I’m still not ready to tell you who’s going to be cutting down the nets on the first Monday of April, I’m ready to tell you that it’s absolutely going to be one of the eight teams below.
1. Michigan
Don’t let the mild shakiness of the last couple weeks distract you from the fact that, at their best, no team in college basketball has appeared to be more unstoppable this season than the Michigan Wolverines.
