More details have emerged about Utah State University football coach Blake Anderson, weeks after the program placed the coach on administrative leave.
The program put Anderson on leave two weeks ago over alleged violations of university policy. Aggies defensive coordinator Nate Dreiling will serve as interim coach. 
Anderson went 23-17 at Utah State since joining in 2021, with an overall coaching record of 74-54.
Anderson’s attorney, Tom Mars, released a statement on Thursday, conveying that Anderson and his legal team will pursue action against Utah State.

As if we needed any more proof that Caitlin Clark is the driving force behind the surge in popularity of the WNBA, we got some just prior to the league’s All-Star Weekend.
According to Sports Media Watch, the Indiana Fever-Dallas Wings matchup on Wednesday averaged 1.7 million viewers on ESPN. 
In the game, Clark broke the WNBA record for assists in a single game with 19. She also added 24 points, for good measure. Unfortunately for her and the Fever, the Wings won the game, 101-93.

The Chicago Cubs dropped a sudden announcement: parting ways with their interpreter for Japanese outfielder, Seiya Suzuki. 
On Thursday, The Athletic’s Patrick Mooney announced that Toy Matsushita, who had been Seiya Suzuki’s interpreter for nearly three years, was no longer employed by the Cubs. Chicago called the move an “organizational decision.”
Suzuki, 29, is batting .270 with a .813 OPS this season (72 games) for Chicago, adding 13 home runs and 45 RBIs.
