Former UFC star Nate Diaz appears to be calling for a change of plans ahead of his boxing debut against Jake Paul in Dallas in response to a recent ruling from the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR).
In mid-May, Diaz, who’s a noted marijuana advocate and user, received word from the TDLR that his request for a marijuana exemption had been denied. The decision came as a result of the state of Texas having a zero-tolerance policy for THC, throwing a wrench into Diaz’s preparation for his Aug. 5 clash with the social media star at the American Airlines Center.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is entering his seventh season in the NFL this fall, and has already etched his name amongst the game’s great signal -allers.
In his first six seasons in the league, Mahomes has been to three Super Bowls, won two of them and captured two league MVPs. He’s thrown for 24,241 career passing yards and racked up 192 touchdowns compared to just 49 interceptions while completing 66.3% of his throws.
In many ways, it seems like Mahomes has been in the league forever, but in other ways it seems like the soon-to-be 28-year-old is just getting started.

The Nets are hiring former UConn head coach Kevin Ollie as an assistant coach, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports. Ollie joins the staff of Jacque Vaughn, who will enter his first full season as the Nets head coach after taking over for Steve Nash midseason last year.
Ollie is best-known for succeeding Jim Calhoun at UConn and leading the Huskies to a national championship in 2014 as a No. 7 seed. In six seasons, though, UConn missed the NCAA tournament four times under Ollie, and the school ultimately fired him in 2018.

The Dodgers’ inexcusable decision to give an anti-Catholic drag group an award has revealed much about modern politics.
The most obvious conclusion is that the team’s cowardice highlights who they value most. And it’s progressive political organizations.

But another conclusion is that sportswriters are so thoroughly consumed with liberal politics that they’ve lost all objectivity or rationality.

Jon Singleton will begin his third tour in Major League Baseball, eight years after he last played in the big league.
The Brewers announced Saturday that the first baseman would officially join Milwaukee after playing for the Triple A Nashville Sounds, marking the first time Singleton will make an MLB appearance since 2015, when he played for the Astros.
Singleton’s journey back to the big league was difficult and filled with off-the-field adversity.
