One of the most contentious measures NFL owners have weighed since awarding Thursday Night Football to Amazon Prime passed Monday.
There will be flexible scheduling of late-season Thursday Night games after all.
Owners passed the measure by a vote of 24-8 Monday afternoon at the NFL meetings in Minneapolis. This after the measure was tabled at the league meetings in Arizona in March. At that meeting owners such as John Mara of the New York Giants and Mark Davis of the Las Vegas Raiders voted against it.

A major change is reportedly coming to Thursday Night Football.
NFL owners voted 24–8 to approve a framework for Thursday Night Football scheduling, according to a Monday afternoon report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter. At least 24 owners needed to vote yes on the proposal for it to pass.
According to Schefter, the Bears, Bengals, Lions, Packers, Raiders, Giants, Jets and Steelers all voted against the proposal, which first became public knowledge in March.

There’s an NFL rule proposal up for a vote that has Pat McAfee RILED UP. The NFL is going to vote on a kickoff rule that would allow players to call fair catch on a kickoff and get the ball at the 25-yard-line
College football already adopted this rule. Essentially, it makes any kickoff eligible for a touchback. Currently in the NFL, the ball must reach the endzone to be declared a touchback, whether it is caught in the endzone or hits the ground.

LSU softball entered the NCAA Tournament as the No. 10 seed, but it is one of just four seeded teams that will not reach a Super Regional after a disappointing result in Baton Rouge over the weekend. The Tigers hosted a Regional, but didn’t make it out.
LSU run-ruled Prairie View A&M on Friday and beat Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday. As a result, the Bayou Bengals were into the Regional final Sunday. They needed just one more win to move on.
Instead, the Ragin’ Cajuns beat them 7-4 in Game 1 and 9-8 in Game 2.
LSU lost its regional, at home, on back-to-back intentional walk failures.

After Carmelo Anthony announced his retirement from the NBA on Monday, many people and organizations from around sports congratulated the veteran on a successful NBA career. For the Hawks, however, they took the opportunity to have some fun involving the former forward.
Anthony was briefly traded from the Thunder to Atlanta after the 2018 season. However, Anthony never played a game for the Hawks as Atlanta bought him out immediately, allowing Anthony to become a free agent.
That didn’t stop the Hawks from making an Anthony jersey, which they showed off immediately after the trade.

Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis‘ polarizing reputation away from the boxing ring saw a bit of a win Monday after a domestic assault claim was dropped by his baby’s mother.
Davis, 28, faced a streak of criticism after allegedly slapping the woman during an altercation in December of 2022. Audio released from the woman’s 9-1-1 call from Dec. 27 heightened the backlash against Davis after the woman was heard yelling “he’s going to kill me” during the call.
“I need help, please!” she pleaded. “I’m trying to go home.
