Zalatoris withdrew in the middle of the third round at the Rocket Mortgage Classic as the PGA Tour player fights a nagging injury.
Will Zalatoris came into Saturday’s round at 7-under and just six shots off the Rocket Mortgage Classic leaders.
However, after eight holes, the former Wake Forest Demon Deacon withdrew from the tournament. Zalatoris was 3-over through eight when he chose to pull out.
The PGA Tour communications team cited a back injury as the reason for his withdrawal.

With as many games as the NFL has been playing over in Jolly Old England — it’s practically the Jacksonville Jaguars’ second home — it stands to reason that at some point there could be a permanent NFL team that plays its games in London. Kansas City Chiefs tight end and boyfriend of some popstar (Taylor… something) Travis Kelce said that he thinks this could happen sooner than some people may think.
Kelce and his brother, former Eagles center Jason, were recently in the UK, and as such, fans asked if they would consider playing for an NFL team based in London.

Chris Bassitt is lucky New York Yankees superstar Aaron Judge hit a 102-mph line drive at his arm.
Now to be fair, a pitcher like Bassitt (who plays for the Toronto Blue Jays) could probably live without having a baseball fly right back at him and hit him in his pitching arm. To boot, this happened on just his sixth pitch of the game. That’s far from an ideal start to an afternoon on the mound.
But quite honestly, he’s lucky he’s not going to the ICU right now.

If you’re mad at a guy for having a podcast, you should definitely go on someone else’s podcast to complain about it. At least, that’s what’s happening with Dallas Cowboys’ teammates Micah Parsons and Malik Hooker.
In a recent appearance on the All Facts No Brakes podcast, host Keyshawn Johnson asked Hooker what he thought about professional athletes starting podcasts and marketing themselves on social media.

Earlier this week, Nike revealed the logo for Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson’s new shoe brand with the company.
This big reveal comes roughly seven weeks after the woke sports media cried racism over the fact that Caitlin Clark – who is white – got her own shoe deal with Nike before Wilson – who is black – did. The Associated Press released a long-winded article in which Wilson claimed that Clark was only popular (and by proxy, receiving endorsements) because of her skin color.

The NHL Draft is underway in Las Vegas, and free agency opens up on Monday, so trades are flying as teams try to acquire picks and clear space to put pen to paper with some free agents.
One of those players traded was Vegas Golden Knights goalie Logan Thompson who learned fairly early on Saturday morning that he had been dealt to the Washington Capitals.
Unfortunately, for Thompson, this trade was finalized just before he was scheduled to do an autograph signing for fans in Las Vegas.
Hey, it happens. That’s how professional sports work sometimes.

It’s nearly July, and Brandon Aiyuk still hasn’t signed a contract extension with the San Francisco 49ers.
The 49ers drafted the wide receiver in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. As a first-round pick, Aiyuk signed the standard four-year rookie contract with a fifth-year team option. San Francisco exercised that option, which means Aiyuk is in the final year of his deal.
The Niners could have extended Aiyuk last off-season, but they didn’t — calling into question his future with the franchise.

Tony Hawk’s 900 isn’t a trick for the faint of heart. It features a full two-and-a-half rotation, and if you don’t have enough speed going into it and your spin is too slow, landing it is nearly impossible, especially given the fact that you’re blind to your landing zone not once, but twice during the trick. Spinning that much requires equal parts courage and skill.
