Social media celebrity Jake Paul will return to the boxing ring on Friday night to face 58-year-old legend Mike Tyson, a curious event that has plenty of people curious as what it might wind up being once the bell rings.
For those who have no interest in Paul – which includes the vast majority of those who saw Tyson fight in his long-ago prime – the best advice would be to keep expectations on the low side, which could allow for the Netflix-streamed event – no pay-per-view for this one – to provide some entertainment.

The Minnesota Vikings announced this week that first-round draft pick J.J. McCarthy had a “procedure” to the same knee that required surgery and forced him to miss his rookie season. But it’s not a surgery.
It’s basically an injection to address swelling.
“It’s not nothing-to-see here, completely smooth sailing,” Dr. David Chao, Outkick’s medical expert said. “It’s a procedure that involves an injection of biologic – maybe like PRP or something. Something biologic.

Kasparas Jakucionis and Will Riley have already been impressive at the start of the NCAA hoops season.
The 2024-25 college basketball season has officially kicked off, and there have already been changes inside the AP Top 25, as teams have worked their way through some tough non-conference competition to begin the year.
The 2024 freshman class has been especially impressive to begin the year, as this group is quickly looking like one of the deeper classes in recent history, with talent spread across the board.

The trolls are out in full force after news broke about Harrison Butker being out with an injury.
The star Kansas City Chiefs kicker will miss a few weeks as he heals from a left knee injury. Generally speaking, the one thing you shouldn’t ever do in sports is celebrate an injury.
Whether it’s one of your own guys or a player on a rival team, you never want to see anyone get hurt. Apparently, that doesn’t apply when it comes to Harrison Butker.

We are three weeks away from the end of the regular season, and there are massive conference title and College Football Playoff implications around the country this weekend. The Tennessee-Georgia game in Athens is, by far, the biggest, as it will likely serve as a de facto CFP elimination game for the Bulldogs.
Elsewhere, Missouri is in an elimination game as well and will visit a hot South Carolina team. Colorado controls its destiny in the race to win the Big 12 Championship Game, but has to get by Utah first in order to keep the magical season alive.

Russell Wilson’s incredible comeback story really could make him the Steelers QB of the immediate future.
It’s amazing that in his 18 years as the Pittsburgh Steelers’ head coach, Mike Tomlin has never had a losing season. That’s common knowledge.
What’s far more amazing is that from 2021-2023, Tomlin’s team managed three straight winning seasons, and two playoff berths, with negative point differentials. Pittsburgh was -51 behind their opponents in 2021 with a 9-7-1 record and a Wild Card playoff berth.

Wisconsin football fans, once again, are behaving like cowards going into a big game.
One of the most unfortunate developments of this football season when it comes to Badgers fans is the fact there’s a lot of weakness.
As Wisconsin fans know, I’m a Wisconsin man. I graduated from Wisconsin, bleed red and white, the Badgers are a huge part of my family and culture and the expectation when I do anything in life is that it’s going to work. I’m going to win.
