The Kansas City Chiefs got the scoring started early in their Christmas Day game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Wednesday afternoon.
Rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy caught a 7-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and the Chiefs went up 6-0.
Worthy appeared to do a Christmas-themed celebration with his teammates, then lifted up his shirt.
NFL officials penalized Worthy for the play. But fans were confused as to why the flag was thrown. Some suggested Worthy may have been pretending to have a gun on him.

When I lugged some garbage bags full of spent wrapping paper down to the dumpster, I thought that all of the Christmas gifts had been opened.
That was until I realized there was one more waiting under the (metaphorical) tree, and it came courtesy of — of all people — President-elect Donald Trump, who celebrated the holiday by firing off what could be some of the greatest social media posts ever written.
Trump revealed that he spent part of his Christmas with someone I’d like to drink a Marty Moose glass of eggnog with, the one and only Wayne Gretzky.

Every Christmas, NFL quarterbacks shower their offensive linemen with lavish gifts as a sign of appreciation for keeping them alive all season. But this year, the Bills’ O-line has flipped the script on Josh Allen.
Three-time Pro Bowl tackle Dion Dawkins posted a video on his Instagram story of Buffalo’s QB1 wearing a brand new, customized diamond chain that was gifted to him by his teammates. The necklace is in the shape of a jersey and features Allen’s number “17” and “MVP” on the front.

If you’re tired of matching family Christmas pajamas, Dan Campbell and his family might convince you to reconsider.
The Detroit Lions head coach — along with his wife Holly and their two kids — wore matching T-shirts on Christmas morning that read, “I have big beautiful balls.”
Referring to Christmas ornaments, obviously.
“A big beautiful Christmas!!!” Holly wrote on Instagram on Wednesday morning, with the hashtags #onepride, #christmastraditions and #goforit.

We’ve spent this entire NFL season chronicling how the Kansas City Chiefs are incomplete and have had to master the art of winning close games. We’ve seen how they must rely on the defense to make up for an inconsistent offense even as quarterback Patrick Mahomes has not often been dynamic.
Even late in Wednesday’s convincing 29-10 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Netflix broadcast crew made the point that the Chiefs have not scored more than 30 points in a game all season.
