Sometimes you have to keep your head on a swivel, especially during the college football playoff. Georgia walk-on, Parker Jones, learned that lesson the hard way in the Sugar Bowl.
In a game that started off with both teams playing tough defense, Georgia’s Gunner Stockton finally broke one open down the field to Arian Smith for a massive gain. Unfortunately for the Bulldogs, the play would be brought back 15 yards, thanks to the unlikeliest of players.

The Jayhawks are getting a potential two-way talent coming their way.
The Kansas Jayhawks have secured a commitment from 2026 three-star athlete JJ Dunnigan, he announced at the Under Armour All-American Game on Thursday.
Dunnigan, a 6’2”, 185-pound defensive back from Manhattan, Kansas, chose the Jayhawks over fellow in-state school Kansas State, Nebraska and Stanford.
Thompson revealed on Instagram that she was newly engaged.
As if it’s not painful enough for New York Giants fans to watch Saquon Barkley having the best season of his career for the Philadelphia Eagles, the star running back is throwing salt in their wounds with a Unisom sleep ad.
Before Barkley signed with the Eagles in free agency, Giants owner John Mara and other front office personnel were filmed deliberating his future for HBO’s Hard Knocks: Offseason series.
“I’ll have a tough time sleeping if Saquon goes to Philadelphia,” Mara told general manager Joe Schoen in one episode. “Just being honest.
Alabama QB Jalen Milroe is heading to the NFL, and some fans can’t wait to see him leave.
Milroe announced Thursday afternoon in a lengthy Instagram post that his time in college has come to an end.
He’s entering the NFL Draft after major speculation about his future. There was plenty of chatter that he’d potentially stay in college and transfer.
That won’t happen. He’s out the door after finishing his career at Alabama with a very disappointing 9-4 season. You can check out his full announcement below, and let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.

The talented four-star wideout had a number of top suitors after reclassifying to the 2025 class.
The South Carolina Gamecocks have secured a commitment from 2025 four-star wide receiver Donovan Murph, he announced at the Under Armour All-American Game on Thursday.
Murph, ranked the No. 4 player in the state of South Carolina, is a 6’2”, 190-pound wide receiver who was seen as a top-250 recruit in the 2025 class across the board.
After the horrendous terror attack on Bourbon Street in New Orleans on Wednesday, the Sugar Bowl honored those who were injured and lost their lives on Thursday afternoon before kickoff between Georgia and Notre Dame.
This was going to be an emotional setting for everyone attending the game, and for those who were protecting the Superdome in the aftermath of the attack. If there’s one thing that this country knows how to do, it’s rally around each other during times of distress.
Milroe had 75 total touchdowns over the last two seasons as Alabama’s No. 1 QB.
Derrick Henry is, once again, a Pro Bowler. But don’t expect him to get excited about it.
The Baltimore Ravens‘ social media team posted a video on Wednesday of general manager Eric DeCosta breaking the good news to Henry that he was named a starter for the 2025 Pro Bowl Games.
DeCosta seemed to be expecting a jubilant reaction — or at the very least, a smile — from the star running back. But instead, Henry (who appeared to be interrupted in the middle of his breakfast to film this video) just stoically replied, “Cool.
With the advent of the transfer portal, name, image and likeness money, and the advent of the expanded, 12-team playoff, it’s been a time of upheaval in college football. One thing, though, has remained the same: the Rose Bowl is by far the best venue in the sport to host big games.
Wednesday’s Rose Bowl game between the #1 Oregon Ducks and #8 Ohio State Buckeyes was far less competitive than most fans and commentators expected.
