A record broken. A forgotten star reemerges. An x-factor’s big night. Surprise musical guests. A last-second kick. Why you must get out of the apartment.
The Super Bowl stage is set, featuring a matchup between the Eagles and the Chiefs. The great stoic Epictetus once said: “If you want to improve, be content being thought of as foolish and stupid.” Such is the default setting of any aspiring sports prognosticator, who aims to be both bold and accurate.

Cameras caught the linebacker screaming in frustration while walking to the locker room after the AFC championship game.
The Bengals’ loss to the Chiefs in the closing seconds of the AFC championship game was made all the more painful by the fashion in which they lost. Cincinnati defensive end Joseph Ossai’s unnecessary roughness penalty for a late hit on Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the game’s final minute put Kansas City within field goal range, and kicker Harrison Butker responded with the winning 45-yard kick.
The two No. 1 seeds will face off for the NFL title.
The matchup for Super Bowl LVII will feature the top seeds in the playoffs with Philadelphia taking on Kansas City after both clubs emerged victorious on Championship Sunday. Oddsmakers at SI Sportsbook have installed the Eagles as 2.5-point favorites in the quest to hoist the Lombardi Trophy in Arizona.
In the first game of Championship weekend, the Eagles punched their ticket to Arizona after crushing San Francisco, 31-7, in the NFC title showdown.

It was a bad night for Eli Apple on the bird app.
Eli Apple came damn close to achieving the impossible this season: Making the Bengals unlikeable. His penchant for undeserved trash talk, paired with ceaselessly mocking the Buffalo Bills on Twitter following their playoff game meant that there was definitely a segment of people who wanted to see Cincinnati lose only so Apple could get his comeuppance.
And my goodness, were people ready to oblige.
Brittany Mahomes continues to be absolutely insufferable.
Following the Kansas City Chiefs punching a ticket to the Super Bowl after beating the Bengals Sunday night, Patrick Mahomes’ wife decided to hop on Twitter and do a little trolling.
She mocked Eli Apple’s previous troll of Stefon Diggs and smashed the send button on, “Cancun on 3 [peace sign emoji].”

Eli Apple, who committed a costly penalty late in the game, previously tweeted at Diggs about heading to Cancun after the Bengals beat the Bills.
Philadelphia Eagles fans will troll anyone, including the greatest receiver in NFL history, Jerry Rice.
Rice, the owner of practically every NFL receiving record, was on the sideline ahead of the 49ers’ matchup with the Eagles in the NFC Championship game. Being in enemy territory, Rice was an easy target for Philly fans.
While fans had fun shouting at Rice, the Hall of Famer had plenty of fun responding and did so without any words.
KANSAS CITY — There’s a moment when having fun and being confident gets unmasked. And then all the big talk and boldness that seems acceptable in the context of winning ages poorly in light of a loss.
That moment came for the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
From top to bottom this team that is equal parts young and talented arrived in this town expecting to own Kansas City and its team as it has in the past. Expecting, as Cincinnati’s idiotic mayor Aftab Pureval tweeted, to make Arrowhead Stadium into Burrowhead Stadium named after Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.
At 21-1, the Boilermakers are not only the best team in basketball but could give the Big Ten its first national champion since 2000.

We’ll never know how good this team could have been.
The Eagles can be the deserving champions of the NFC, and the 49ers can also be the best team we’ll never know the potential of. These aren’t mutually exclusive notions. Ultimately the most anticipated game of the weekend turned into its most disappointing, and the shame to it all isn’t that Philadelphia won, but rather our path to getting here.
We don’t need to gild the lily anymore: San Francisco ran out of quarterbacks, and that’s why they couldn’t compete on Sunday.
There’s one storyline relevant above all others right now, and it won’t change over the next two weeks: The two best teams made it to the Super Bowl. We’re in for a treat.
