Here are our winners and losers from the PGA Tour’s Florida swing as The Masters is right around the corner.
We have reached the final week of March, which means that Opening Day is right around the corner. This particular author will be present and accounted for when the first pitch is thrown for the Houston Astros on Thursday. Some are wondering whether any PGA Tour party members will be as well with the Texas Children’s Houston Open going on at the same time.

Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Mookie Betts did not suit up against the Chicago Cubs during their two-game series in Tokyo last week due to an illness. Days later, he’s still battling the same illness, and it doesn’t sound like it’s not getting any better at all.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts shared in Tokyo that Betts, who is listed at 180 pounds, had lost close to 15 pounds. While speaking with the media on Sunday, Betts said he now weighs closer to 150 pounds given the fact that every time he eats something he vomits.
“You weigh yourself and you weigh 150 pounds.

ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Within minutes of his Greece debut last week, 17-year-old Konstantinos Karetsas made an impact with successive shots against Scotland in a Nations League playoff.
Late Sunday, he announced himself to the football world.
Starring among a crop of young Greeks who swept past Scotland 3-0, Karetsas delivered his moment of magic in the 42nd minute to become his country’s youngest goal scorer with a perfectly-timed lob over experienced goalkeeper Craig Gordon.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Dan Hurley’s emotions ran the gamut following his team’s 77-75 loss to Florida in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, which ended UConn’s bid for a third straight national championship.
There was anger at the officiating down the stretch, causing Hurley to lash out over some perceived bad calls as he left the court. There was frustration over his team’s self-inflicted mistakes, like failing to box out on free throws and corral key rebounds at crucial times.

Between now and whenever the Pittsburgh Steelers make a decision about the quarterback position we are going to continue to hear every pundit share their thoughts on whether or not the Steelers holding out for Aaron Rodgers is a good idea. One pundit who definitely thinks it is a bad idea if former NFL player and FS1 analyst Emmanuel Acho.
Acho said, “The Steelers are making a monumental mistake waiting on Rodgers. He’s a band-aid on a situation that needs constructive surgery.”
A bold statement for sure but he’s not wrong.

The 2025 NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 is officially set.
On Sunday evening, the second round concluded when No. 4 Arizona defeated No. 5 Oregon 87-83 in Seattle, Washington. The field is now down to 16 teams, each with an opportunity to climb the mountaintop for a national title.
Following Oregon’s defeat, just four Big Ten squads remain in the field — No. 2-seed Michigan State (South), No. 4-seed Purdue (Midwest), No. 4-seed Maryland (West) and No. 5-seed Michigan (South).

One of the big stories going into the 2025 NCAA Tournament was how the conferences would perform.
Obviously, the SEC garnered all the headlines heading into the Big Dance, setting a record with 14 teams reaching the tournament. But the Big Ten sent eight teams, the Big 12 had seven, the Big East sent five and the ACC had four.
Mid-majors comprised the rest of the field, but they were ALL eliminated. That’s right, the entire Sweet 16 comes from the Power 5. Well, almost entirely from three of the five leagues, but we’ll get into that in a moment.

Justin Thomas had the Valspar Championship in his grasp, but once again came up short in his pursuit of victory.
Justin Thomas continues to do everything but win.
He held the lead late on the back nine but coughed it up by making two bogies over his final three holes. Thomas handed the Valspar Championship title to Viktor Hovland while extending his winless drought to nearly three years — his last victory came at the 2022 PGA Championship at Southern Hills.
