Rookie Jonathan Mogbo had a career night on the glass and neared a double-double to help lead the Toronto Raptors to a win over the Washington Wizards.
Mogbo produced eight points, 11 rebounds, two assists and two steals in the 112-104 victory at Capital One Arena. He went 3-of-7 from the field and 2-of-4 from the free-throw line in 24 minutes off the bench as the Raptors snapped a four-game losing streak.
The 31st has hauled in at least 10 rebounds in consecutive games for the first time after tallying 10 on Sunday. He recorded eight points and seven rebounds in the second half alone.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Alex Lyon made 16 saves in relief of injured starter Petr Mrazek, powering the Detroit Red Wings to a 5-1 victory over the Utah Hockey Club on Monday night.
Lyon took over at goalie after Mrazek exited just 1:38 into the game with an apparent lower body injury. Dylan Guenther collided with Mrazek in the net at the tail end of a breakaway shot attempt. Mrazek limped off the ice after the play and went straight to the locker room.
Elmer Soderblom, Marco Kasper, Austin Watson, Alex DeBrincat and Tyler Motte all scored to help Detroit snap a six-game skid away from home.

The Inola native and Baylor southpaw turned in the most heroic performance of her college career Sunday, tossing a career-high 8.2 innings against No. 13 Oklahoma State in a pressure-packed series finale.

DALLAS (AP) — Jake Oettinger shut out his home-state team stopping 32 shots, Wyatt Johnston and Matt Duchene scored 58 seconds apart late in the second period and the Dallas Stars beat the Minnesota Wild 3-0 on Monday night.
Oettinger, who grew up about 20 miles south of the Twin Cities in Lakeville, Minnesota, is 7-0-2 in regular-season play against the Wild and has an eight-game home winning streak beginning in late January.
Johnston deflected a shot from the blue line by Thomas Harley for a power-play goal at 15:01 of the second.

USC superstar guard JuJu Watkins left Monday night’s 2025 women’s NCAA tournament game with an apparent injury.
Watkins fell to the court in what looked to be a no-contact injury and was carried off during the second round game against Mississippi State at USC. She looked to be holding her knee and in a serious amount of pain.
Watkins entered Monday night’s contest with hand and ankle injuries sustained on Saturday, but they did not hold her out of the Trojans’ tournament contest against the Bulldogs.
Watkins, 19, is in the midst of her sophomore season at USC.

NEW YORK (AP) — Adam Fantilli scored in regulation and then got the only goal in the shootout, leading the Columbus Blue Jackets to a 4-3 win against the New York Islanders on Friday night to end a six-game skid.
Boone Jenner and Kirill Marchenko also scored in regulation for the Blue Jackets, and Elvis Merzlikins made 30 saves.
Pierre Engvall, Kyle Palmieri and Anders Lee scored for New York, which lost its second straight after a three-game win streak. Ilya Sorokin finished with 28 saves.
In the second round of the shootout, Fantilli made a move to his backhand and beat Sorokin.

JuJu Watkins was taken out of USC’s Monday night game versus Mississippi State in the 2025 NCAA women’s basketball tournament with what seems to be an apparent injury.
During the first quarter of the second round matchup, Watkins was racing down the court on a break when she fell to the court after coming in contact with two Mississippi State players. It’s unclear whether or not the slight contact caused the injury or it happened just before, but Watkins fell to the ground holding her right knee in clear pain.

The Chicago Bears are becoming a destination spot for former Notre Dame football stars, and on Monday, another one joined the NFC franchise.
While safety Nick McCloud only played one year for the Irish in 2020, he continued his football career even though he wasn’t drafted. He started with the Buffalo Bills in 2021 (two stints) and also played for the Cincinnati Bengals that season.
McCloud would then play for the New York Giants from 2022-2024, and also was on the San Francisco 49ers in 2024.
