Beware of Ken Francis — an apparent scammer contacting NFL teams about Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson.
OK, there’s obviously more to the story. But what a WILD way to start our Thursday night!
Here’s the memo that was sent out to all 32 teams this afternoon regarding some random dude named Ken Francis cold-calling teams about the star QB.

Here’s the full memo from the NFL Management Council warning teams not to negotiate with a man named Ken Francis about Lamar Jackson.
“Violation of this rule may result in disapproval of any Offer Sheet or resulting.

The program announced that Dale Lindsey had retired earlier this week, but he had a different take on his departure.
On Tuesday, San Diego announced the retirement of longtime football coach Dale Lindsey, who had led the Toreros to seven conference titles in 10 years. In a statement, USD athletics director Bill McGillis wrote that Lindsey “will retire from USD as one of the greatest head coaches in our university’s history and one of the elite head coaches in college football.”
Given his many accomplishments, that last part is undeniably true.

The Flyers began the year with a lot of hope for head coach Anthony Grant’s sixth year with the program. They were coming off of a 24-win season in 2021-22, added a lot of talent during the offseason, and were riding the excitement of Mongolian Mike.

The Portuguese superstar added another record to his legendary career.
Cristiano Ronaldo added a new record to his legendary career on Thursday when he became the most-capped men’s player in international soccer history.
The Portuguese forward made his 197th appearance for his home country on Thursday against Liechtenstein in a Euro 2024 qualifying match. He surpassed the record held by Kuwait’s Bader Al-Mutawa, who has made 196 appearances for his country.
Ronaldo currently plays for Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr after signing with the team back in December shortly after the World Cup.

In a strange stroke of irony, some victory cigars turned out to be a pretty significant loss for Ferris State Bulldogs head coach Tony Annese.
The NCAA announced that it’s suspending Annese for one game after two of his players lit up some victory stogies. It happened following the team’s second straight Division II national championship last December.
If you’re wondering how Joe Burrow got away unscathed after puffing away after the LSU Tigers 2019 National Championship, there’s a reason.
It’s because you’re normally allowed to.

The guard has yet to make his Golden State debut since being traded last month.
Warriors guard Gary Payton II could possibly make his team debut this weekend as long as his recovery from his right adductor injury continues to progress.
Payton was evaluated by the team on Wednesday and is making “good progress,” the team announced on Thursday. He will be evaluated again on Saturday after practice and the team will decide if he is ready to play ahead of Sunday’s game vs. the Timberwolves.

A pair of current New York running backs had some definitive thoughts on potentially playing with the former Cowboys legend.
It appears safe to say that a pair of current Jets players aren’t as open to playing with a Cowboys legend the same way they are for Aaron Rodgers.
After a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter surfaced that former Dallas running back Ezekiel Elliott has narrowed down his options about where to play to the Eagles, Jets and Bengals, it didn’t take long for two current Jets running backs to weigh in on social media.

Refs this, refs that … the NBA can’t stop blaming officiating.
On the same night that Mavericks owner Mark Cuban disputed Dallas’ loss to the Warriors over an “officiating error,” Phoenix Suns coach Monty Williams blamed a contrast in awarded free throws for the team’s loss to the Lakers on Wednesday, 122-111.
Too Many Free Throws For LA, Says Monty Williams
Williams took one question from the postgame media and stormed off in frustration. Monty was bent on calling out the officiating.
