There are a few things on my sports bucket list that I’d love to do if given the chance. I wouldn’t mind taking a spin in the two-seater IndyCar at the Indianapolis 500, it’d be cool to throw an octopus on the ice at a Red Wings game, and I’d like to crank a home run into McCovey Cove.

The Philadelphia 76ers dodged a nightmare scenario on Saturday evening in Game 1 of their first-round playoff matchup against the New York Knicks.
With just under three minutes left in the second quarter, center Joel Embiid picked up his dribble at the foul line, and looked to make a play. Instead of passing to a teammate, he called his own number and threw a lob to himself off the backboard.
The crowd erupted after the electric play, but only briefly. As soon as Embiid came back on the hardwood, he grabbed his left knee and laid down in obvious pain.

Collin Morikawa’s game is back.
After a really tough stretch to begin his 2024 season, Morikawa is clicking on all cylinders. He posted a 3-under 68 Saturday at the RBC Heritage and is in solo third at 14-under.
Of course, he still trails Masters champion Scottie Scheffler by two strokes.
Nevertheless, the Cal Berkeley graduate is confident he can get the job done this time.
