One of the most iconic NBA stars of the past 30 years has passed away.
Dikembe Mutombo, a native of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, has passed away at the age of 58 after a battle with brain cancer. Standing at a staggering 7’2″, he was one of the most imposing defenders of his era, constantly altering (or blocking) shots at the rim. He would finish his 19-year career for the Nuggets, Hawks, 76ers, Nets, Knicks, and Rockets with just under three blocks per game.

Antonio Pierce is walking back comments regarding “business decisions” some of his players made during an embarrassing loss last week.
The remark came after Las Vegas fell, 36-22, to Andy Dalton and the previously winless Carolina Panthers on Sept. 22. The Raiders head coach lamented the lack of effort by some of his players — adding that they simply didn’t show up for the team’s home opener.
“As the game went on, I think there was definitely some individuals that made business decisions,” Pierce said.

While it achieved that goal, it was about the only good thing to come from these “Nike Vapor” uniforms.

But, the Valkyries don’t currently have anyone on their roster, and in order for them to actually have bodies next season, an expansion draft will be held on December 6th on ESPN.

For the diehard NBA fans out there, Monday marked the official start of the 2024-25 season with media days taking place around the league. The Brooklyn Nets held media availability on Monday, and in what may be seen as a surprise to some, Ben Simmons was in attendance and spoke with reporters.
Based on his comments, it’s easy to see why he seemed practically giddy to speak with the press, as he wanted to remind the world that he’s still a pretty good basketball player.
