Los Angeles Angels owner Arte Moreno has had quite an eventful offseason.
After previously announcing his intention to sell the team, in January, he made a stunning about-face. Instead of parting ways with the organization, he had decided to stay on.

That decision came without much explanation, other than saying he was “not ready to part ways with the fans, players and our employees.

Welcome to the World Baseball Classic.
Where a 5-foot-8 starting pitcher for the Czech Republic, who works as a technician at an electric company, struck out 4 players on Saturday.
Oh, and he did it by not throwing a single pitch over 79.3mph.
And on top of that – he STRUCK OUT SHOHEI OHTANI.
I can only sum this up by saying, “let’s goooo!”

Satoria is in the zone today! What a big strike out of Ohtani for the Czech Republic starter

The four-time MVP has played his entire career in Green Bay.
The framework of an Aaron Rodgers trade appears to be ready. The only missing piece is Aaron Rodgers.
The nuts and bolts of a trade sending the Packers quarterback to the Jets are “essentially done,” according to a Saturday morning report from Connor Hughes of SNY.
“Everything that needs to be done is essentially done in regards to a trade. Sides have worked out what needs to be worked out. So if Rodgers wants to be a Jet, he will be a Jet,” Hughes wrote.

He was the first coach to lead a team to four Super Bowl appearances.
Former Vikings head coach Bud Grant has died at the age of 95, Minnesota announced on Saturday.
Grant was a multi-sport athlete at the University of Minnesota, playing football, basketball and baseball for the Gophers. He was drafted by both the NBA and NFL, briefly playing for the Minneapolis Lakers after college and winning an NBA title, before transitioning full time to football with the Eagles, where he played two years as a defensive end and wide receiver.

Marriott has finally detailed the allegations of a female employee against Michael Irvin.
The ex-Cowboys receiver and NFL Network broadcaster is suing a woman that accused him of misconduct following a brief interaction at an Arizona hotel on Feb. 5. He was in town as part of his scheduled Super Bowl coverage.
In a court filing submitted Friday, Marriott claimed Irvin flagged down the employee as she walked through the lobby. He reportedly told her he found her attractive, shook her hand and introduced himself.

The free agent put on a show for a dozen teams on Friday.
Free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. held a workout in Arizona on Friday to show interested teams that he is fully recovered from his ACL injury. After missing last year, the veteran put on a showcase for 12 teams ahead of the new league year beginning this week.
Beckham was able to show that he still has some explosiveness left, and he even threw in some one-handed catches.

Excitement abounds in the Carolinas.
By any metric, the Panthers‘ acquisition of the No. 1 pick in next month’s NFL draft from the Bears Friday afternoon scans as a franchise turning point. It’s only the second time Carolina has had the first overall selection, after the franchise’s 2011 pick of quarterback Cam Newton.

Carolina reportedly wants to keep its options open.
After the Bears traded the first overall pick to the Panthers on Friday, Carolina now has control of the top of the draft. While the team is expected to take a quarterback with that first pick, the Panthers are trying to keep their options open, which could include an unorthodox decision.
According to reports by ESPN’s David Newton and The Athletic‘s Joe Person, Carolina could actually trade back down in the draft if they do not love one option above the rest at No. 1.

You know what’s a bad idea? Arguing balls and strikes down four in the ninth inning with two outs. Unfortunately, one college baseball batter learned that the hard way Friday night.
Sometimes, the kiddos have to walk before they can run.
And while this may well be the worst Strike 3 call I’ve ever seen in the history of baseball, I can’t say this cat didn’t have it coming.

This has to be the worst strike three call in the history of the world. pic.twitter.
