Jay Bilas is sick and tired of students storming the court, but he doesn’t think it will come to an end.
Duke star Kyle Filipowski was injured this past weekend and suffered a sprained ankle when Wake Forest students stormed the court.
Instead of getting Duke players off the court, students flooded the court, Filipowski got injured and all hell broke loose.
It was only a matter of time before a player was injured thanks to these antics, and we all watched it happen Saturday afternoon. Bilas, a former Duke player, wants to see it end, but knows it won’t.

The Clippers’ new rebrand is a big improvement.
The Los Angeles Clippers don’t exactly strike fear into their opponents, historically-speaking. The franchise that was founded as the Buffalo Braves in 1970, became the Clippers in a move to San Diego in 1978, and then landed in LA in 1984, has never reached the NBA Finals. The franchise’s all-time winning percentage for both regular season and postseason games is 42 percent.
The Clippers have been decidedly more successful since Steve Ballmer purchased the team back in 2014.

Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler showed he can put a positive spin on almost anything, even getting suspended.
A total of four players (including Butler) received suspensions for a brawl between the Heat and New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night. It all started when Heat forward Kevin Love aggressively fouled Pelicans star Zion Williamson, which angered Naji Marshall.
After seeing the hard foul, Marshall went over and confronted Love. That drew the attention of Butler, who was then promptly choked by Marshall. This incident turned a noticeably heated confrontation into a full-on melee.

Major League Baseball is back, which means we’re back to watching lots of pitchers throwing nasty pitches that make you wonder how any batter gets a hit at the professional level.
If you need more proof of this, just check out what New York Yankees rookie Bryce Warrecker did on Sunday while facing Philadelphia Phillies right fielder Matt Kroon in Clearwater, Fla. The right-hander, who was selected in the 20th round of last June’s draft out of Cal Poly, threw three sweepers for strikes that looked like they were Wiffle balls.

Cristiano Ronaldo is facing an investigation after he appeared to make an obscene gesture toward jeering fans during Al-Nassr’s win over Al-Shabab in the Saudi Pro League at Al-Shabab Club Stadium on Sunday.
As Ronaldo celebrated Al-Nassr’s 3—2 road win, some fans started up a “Messi” chant in a nod to Ronaldo’s longtime rival. The Portuguese star smiled and put his hand up to his ear, then pumped his hand near his groin area while facing the stands, a gesture that seemingly was directed at the heckling Al-Shabab fans.

Longtime NFL journalist Peter King announced his retirement from the industry, for now, on Monday morning.
“I’m retiring*. I use an asterisk because I truly don’t know what the future holds for me,” King wrote in a Football Morning in America piece. “I probably will work at something, but as I write this I have no idea what it will be. Maybe it will be something in the media world, but just not Football Morning in America (nee Monday Morning Quarterback).”
King provided four reasons as to why he felt like retirement was the right decision for him now.

Iowa guard Caitlin Clark became the NCAA Division I women’s basketball career leading scoring leader on Feb. 15 when she drilled a deep three-pointer in a win over Michigan. To honor her, the Hawkeyes placed a decal with her name and jersey number on the spot where she hit the record-breaking shot on the court at Carver-Hawkeye Arena and revealed the commemoration Sunday.
But after her team’s 101–85 win over visiting Illinois, Clark made a surprising admission about the inscription on the court.

One of the coolest plays in all of sports has to be an inside-the-park home run in a MLB game. They don’t happen all that often, but when they do they tend to be pretty special.
That was the case Sunday in Port Charlotte, Fla., when Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Kameron Misner circled the bases against the Detroit Tigers after hitting a blooper into shallow center field.

NASCAR needed that one. Hell, after the last few weeks, they deserved that one.
Unlike the useless COVID jab, Atlanta was the shot in the arm all automobile fans needed. No rain. No moving it up a day, or back a day. No stupid caution to ruin the final lap.
Just insane racing from start to finish – there was a 16-car pileup on lap TWO, don’t forget – and one of the closest finishes in NASCAR history.
That, boys and girls, was a race we can all get behind.

Kickoffs in the NFL could look vastly different in 2024.
The NFL competition committee reportedly held discussions about changing kickoff rules on Sunday in Indianapolis during a meeting ahead of the new league year.
“My perspective has been that we have to keep the kickoff in the game,” Atlanta Falcons CEO Rich McKay told the Washington Post. “And to do that, we have to find a way to modernize it and get that play going again because that 20% return rate is not what was intended for that [fair catch] rule.
