Charles Barkley, like most folks out there who don’t bleed Crimson, believes Alabama’s Brandon Miller should have been punished for his involvement in the killing of 23-year-old mother Jamea Jonea Harris.
Miller, the leading scorer for Alabama, admitted to bringing the gun his now-former teammate Darius Miles gave to Michael Davis to fire the deadly shots that killed Harris, according to court records. Miles and Michael ‘Buzz’ Davis are facing capital murder charges, while Harris has not faced any discipline at all from law enforcement or the university.

The TNT basketball analyst had another well-timed joke on the air on Thursday.
ESPN basketball analyst Kendrick Perkins got himself into hot water last week when he suggested that NBA MVP voters have a racial bias that plays into their voting of Nuggets star Nikola Jokić, who is the frontrunner to take home his third straight league MVP.
Even more attention was put on Perkins earlier this week, after fellow ESPN basketball analyst JJ Redick roasted him on First Take for his take on the media members who vote for Jokić.

The cornerback is entering the final year of his deal.
The Eagles have given cornerback Darius Slay permission to seek a trade, ESPN’s Dianna Russini reports. According to Russini, Philadelphia still hopes they can find common ground with Slay to keep him on the team.
Despite the Eagles’ permission, Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer reports Slay did not ask for a trade himself. Instead, this just appears to be the latest in the team’s negotiations in a potential contract restructure.

Damian Lillard is an optimist. At least he was optimistic Wednesday, hours before a disappointing loss in Boston, where I caught up with him on the TD Garden floor. Despite Portland’s rocky season—31–35 entering Friday-night’s game in Philadelphia—Lillard still believed the Trail Blazers could salvage it.
“It looks like we’re struggling, but there are [five] teams with 33 or 34 losses,” Lillard says.

The NFL announced the full order for this year’s NFL draft, which includes all the compensatory selections announced for this year. In total, there will 259 picks through seven rounds in this year’s draft.
The NFL draft is scheduled to begin on Thursday, April 27 at 8 p.m. ET and will last through Saturday, April 29. Additionally, this year the draft will be held in Kansas City, with the Super Bowl champions serving as host.
