Los Angeles Lakers guard D’Angelo Russell has been on a two-month heat check, averaging north of 20 points per game in both January and February. His red-hot run has been almost unquestionably the best basketball he’s played in his career, and the 28-year-old guard has no problem letting his critics hear about it.
During a recent conversation on The Backyard Podcast, Russell dropped a one-liner that perfectly summed up his dominance of late while also trolling his haters.
“I got two left feet, I can barely jump and I’m busting y’all favorite players’ a–,” Russell said.

The Chicago Bulls‘ matchup against the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night ended in a heated exchange between the players and even the coaches.
With 9.3 seconds remaining, Jazz forward John Collins walked over to the Bulls’ bench as Chicago forward Torrey Craig, who is out with injury, was harping something toward him.
Bulls assistant coach Chris Fleming tried to stand between Collins and Craig before things escalated, but he ended up exchanging shoves with the Jazz forward. That’s when the tension soared, as more players and coaches attempted to break up the scuffle that followed.

Bob Myers, the architect of the Golden State Warriors dynasty, returned to Chase Center on Wednesday for the first time since stepping down as general manager last summer.
Myers was broadcasting the Warriors’ matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks for ESPN, his new employer.
In the second quarter of the game, Golden State paid tribute to its former executive with a touching tribute video on the Jumbotron. After the video ended, his three daughters addressed the sellout crowd and introduced their dad.
Cameras panned to Myers, who was visibly emotional.

Rain came pouring down in San Diego on Wednesday night, but that didn’t stop the United States Women’s National Team’s matchup against Canada in the Concacaf W Gold Cup semifinals match from being played.
There was water visibly sitting on the field at Snapdragon Stadium. Players on both teams slipped and slid all across the field when trying to either kick the ball or defend. The weather conditions made for a scary on-field situation.
Fans online began begging Concacaf to postpone, or even briefly pause, the match as the players’ health and safety seemed to become a concern.

Chicago White Sox right-handed pitcher Dylan Cease is a poet. And he knows it, too.
In a video posted by MLB’s official social media account Wednesday, Cease revealed that he once spent time in the shower writing an ode to honor his slider.
“Honestly, I was just in the shower, and I was listening to piano music,” Cease said. “Just happened in my mind, so I ended up writing it down.”
It went a little something like this:
“Oh slider, slide, oh slider, slide past the batsman. I send my slider to hide. Oh slider, slide, oh slider, slide, past the batsman I send that round cowhide.

The Green Bay Packers–Chicago Bears rivalry is one of the most intense in professional sports.
But coaches Matt LaFleur and Matt Eberflus put their differences aside on Wednesday night to attend a Marquette basketball game. They sat next to each other courtside.
It’s interesting to consider what LaFleur and Eberflus could have discussed, especially during the offseason. Surely, they weren’t sharing behind-the-scenes secrets.
Marquette posted a couple of images of the coaches on X, formerly known as Twitter, and the reactions quickly blew up.

Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz sounds happy to have moved on from the Dallas Cowboys, comparing the team’s operations to that of a “zoo” during a segment on ‘The Pat McAfee Show.’
Schultz joined the Texans last offseason after five years in Dallas. Reflecting on his time in the Big D, Schultz expressed relief that the Texans do things differently, namely focusing more on football than the NFL spectacle.
