The NFL draft is here, with the teams making their choices over the course of three days, starting on Thursday night with the first round, Friday with rounds two and three, and Saturday concluding the event with the final four rounds.
Notre Dame is expected to have more than a few of its now former players hearing their names called, as this past season had players declare early and more exhausting their eligibility.

The Lions have moved up six positions in the second round to select a player who might be familiar to plenty of their fans.
With the No. 44 overall pick, Detroit has selected Michigan defensive end Derrick Moore.
Moore played 53 games for the Wolverines with 24 starts over the last two seasons. He was a first-team All-Big Ten honoree in 2025, finishing the season with 30 total tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, two forced fumbles, and three passes defended.
He tallied 24.5 tackles for loss and 21 sacks in his collegiate career.

The Cowboys added two players to their defense in the first round of the draft and they picked up a veteran on that side of the ball on Friday night.
According to multiple reports, they have agreed to a trade that will bring linebacker Dee Winters to Dallas. The 49ers will receive the 152nd pick in the draft in return for Winters.
Winters was a 2023 sixth-round pick by the Niners and he started all 17 games for the team last season. He had 101 tackles and returned his only interception of the season for a 74-yard touchdown.

ATLANTA (AP) — Nickeil Alexander-Walker was voted the NBA’s 2026 Most Improved Player on Friday, beating out finalists Deni Avdija and Jalen Duren to become the second Hawks player to win the award in two years.
It was, by far, the best statistical season of Alexander-Walker’s career after Dyson Daniels won the trophy last season.
“Going into the summer I was kind of nervous because I was getting a lot of love from the Hawks organization,” Alexander-Walker said.
He scored a career-best 20.8 points per game, more than doubling his average from his first six pro seasons.

HOUSTON — All-Star forward Kevin Durant sat out Friday’s Game 3 versus the Los Angeles Lakers with a sprained left ankle, which he suffered late in the previous game.
Ime Udoka, head coach of the Rockets, said pregame that Durant’s ankle had experienced swelling and was still tender, as of earlier in the day.
Durant was questionable for the first two games of the first-round series with a right knee contusion, sitting out Game 1 before playing in Game 2. The latest injury is to his other leg.

Center fielder Dave Henderson, second baseman Mark Ellis, pitcher John “Blue Moon” Odom and executive Sandy Alderson will be inducted into the Athletics’ Hall of Fame.
The inductions will take place on Saturday, Sept. 12, before the Athletics face Seattle.
Henderson played six of his 14 big league seasons with Oakland, including the 1988-90 run of AL pennant winners that included the ‘89 sweep of the San Francisco Giants in the only Bay Area World Series that was interrupted by the Loma Prieta earthquake. He had 104 home runs and 377 RBI with the team.

The Boston Celtics head to Philadelphia for a pivotal Game 3 on Friday night.
After a statement Game 1 win at TD Garden, the 76ers evened the series with a double-digit win of their own in Game 2. Despite Jaylen Brown pouring in a game-high 36 points, the Celtics struggled to find their rhythm from deep, shooting a dismal 26% on 50 attempts from three-point range.

We asked you what position group the Green Bay Packers should target with their second-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft on Friday night, April 24, in Pittsburgh.

Out of 98 responses, 46 – nearly half – said the Packers should take a cornerback.
Defensive tackle came in second with 28, followed by edge rusher with 14, other with eight and offensive line with two. We offered wide receiver as a choice, too, but no one picked it.

Both FC Barcelona and Real Madrid are out of the Champions League and only have the La Liga title to play for. Madrid have dug themselves into a massive hole though with only one month remaining. The Spanish giants have won only one of their last four league matches, and their latest draw against Real Betis came at the hands of a former Barcelona defender.

The New England Patriots might be looking for a tight end in the 2026 NFL Draft, and Georgia tight end Oscar Delp seems to be hoping he’s the pick that comes off the board.
He posted a picture of himself wearing a Patriots jersey in his Instagram story on Thursday.
The team traded up in the first round to get Utah offensive tackle Caleb Lomu with the 28th overall pick. They could be eyeing a tight end on Day 2 or Day 3 of the draft. Delp played a role in the Bulldogs’ offense, tallying 20 catches for 261 yards and a touchdown last season.
