Our picks as we draw closer to the end of the season.
We’re hitting the final stretch of the NFL regular season. Playoff teams are being finalized, bad teams are praying their draft position isn’t ruined with a surprise win, and everyone left in the middle is just waiting to see how this plays out.
There are a few major games to circle on the calendar this weekend in how this could all shake out. The first is Chiefs vs. Texans, where Patrick Mahomes is going to stunningly play with a high ankle sprain.

Jeremiah Fears should still be in high school right now. Instead, he’s powering Oklahoma’s undefeated start, and catching the NBA’s attention.
Jeremiah Fears should be thinking about who he wants to take to prom right now. With an Oct. 19 birthday, Fears was part of the high school class of 2025 until finalizing a daring plan to reclassify following his standout run on the Nike EYBL circuit over the summer.
“My goal is to play in the NBA,” Fears told ESPN on the day he committed to Oklahoma. It was a goal that couldn’t wait.

I don’t mean to brag, but I’ve watched quite a bit of hockey in my day. Just ask my fiancé, who puts up with it from October into the middle of June every year (what a saint she is). However, I don’t think I’ve seen anything like what happened on Wednesday night at Little Caesar’s Arena when the Detroit Red Wings took on the Philadelphia Flyers.
This was the second time the two teams met over the last week with the Flyers winning 4-1 (or, rather, Scott Laughton won 4-1) last Thursday in Philadelphia.

Cincinnati Bengals running back Chase Brown scored a touchdown against the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in Week 14 and celebrated like many before him have – by jumping into the Salvation Army kettle just outside of the end zone.
Two weeks later, Brown had learned that his celebration came with a consequence in the form of a $5,000 fine.
Not only does Brown disagree with the fine amount, but he took his grievances a step further and accused the league of actually baiting players to jump in the kettles in Dallas.

What a time to be alive.
You have absolutely no idea how much unbridled joy this brings me. Falcons’ rookie Michael Penix Jr. found out that he was getting the nod to start for Atlanta moving forward while waiting in line to buy a $1.50 hotdog from Costco.

#Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. says he was shopping at Costco and about to buy a $1.50 hotdog when he got the call he was becoming the starting QB. He says he wasn’t hungry anymore after learning of the news. pic.twitter.

A new man will take on the toughest job in Formula 1 — being teammates with Max Verstappen at Red Bull — and his name is Liam Lawson.
When news broke that Red Bull and Sergio Perez were parting ways, it was obvious that Lawson was going to be the guy. He made his way through Red Bull’s development program and the team went to great lengths to make sure they kept him in the fold, even when there weren’t any race seats available for him.
However, many were surprised and disappointed that the seat wasn’t given to Lawson’s now-former VCARB teammate Yuki Tsunoda.

In an incredibly predictable fashion, Megan Rapinoe was a fan of Caitlin Clark’s recent comments about how she has benefited from ‘white privilege’ throughout her life and basketball career. The former U.S. women’s soccer standout didn’t stop at simply applauding Clark’s comment, however, Rapinoe also took a shot at conservatives in the process.
“I want to say I’ve earned every single thing, but as a white person, there is privilege,” was the quote from Clark that lit the Internet ablaze after she was named Time’s Athlete of the Year.

Yes, this is real.
The Jets have a gift for doing things so stupid, so inane, that you can’t even believe they’re a multi-billion dollar organization. The latest hit comes after an anecdote from The Athletic, which is so mind-blowing it’s beyond belief.

Woody Johnson nixed a trade for Jerry Jeudy last offseason because he felt his Madden rating was too low.
Sources describe his impulsive over-involvement as the root of the Jets’ dysfunction.
