The 49ers will be without one of their top wide receivers for a “couple weeks”. We break down the fantasy football waiver wire implications.
The San Francisco 49ers stumbled to a loss in Minnesota in Week 2, but they suffered a potentially bigger loss late in the game. 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan told the media on Monday that wide receiver Deebo Samuel suffered a calf strain on the third to last play of the game, and would miss “a couple of weeks.”
Samuel finished the game with eight receptions for 110 yards.

It was a regular night before a top-25 game between Missouri and Boston College. The SEC Network crew that included Peter Burns, Ayssa Lang, Taylor Zarzour and commissioner Greg Sankey gathered for dinner at Bud’s BBQ in Columbia for their pregame meal.
But, for host Peter Burns, his night would quickly turn into a near-death experience, as the seconds ticked down on what was looking like an evening that almost turned tragic.
While the crew was enjoying a steak dinner, Peter Burns found himself in a bad situation.

I feel like I’m in the Twilight Zone. Last week, I wrote about how being a Los Angeles Rams wide receiver should come with additional injury insurance after Puka Nacua went down.
Well, Cooper Kupp is now hurt. Again. He suffered an ankle injury in the team’s blowout loss against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
Kupp tried to come back into the game, but coaches pulled him back. He did not play in the second half, but many assumed that was simply because the Rams were getting destroyed.
Well, it turns out the injury was worse than it looked.
Yikes.

On any given day, football coaches have to do a variety of things. They’ve got to map out plays, mediate and end petty arguments between players, and keep their team motivated and prepared for the next game.
But if you’re Oklahoma State Cowboys head coach Mike Gundy, part of your unofficial job description is to act as a handyman in the press conference room.
Earlier Monday, Gundy was taking questions from the media about the Cowboys’ upcoming matchup with the Utah Utes.

Jason Kelce should feel right at home for Monday Night Countdown this time around. The Week 2 match-up between the Falcons and Eagles is happening in Philadelphia — where Kelce spent all 13 of his NFL seasons.
Now, though, Jason is embracing his new role as an NFL analyst for ESPN. And ahead of Monday night’s game, he sat down with Jalen Hurts, to reflect on their time together and to see how Jason’s former QB is adjusting in his absence.
And with no disrespect to the Eagles’ current center, Cam Jurgens, Hurts sure seems to miss Kelce snapping him the football.

Donald Trump may be experiencing assassination attempts at an alarmingly high rate, but that doesn’t mean that he’s afraid to go out in public.
Earlier today, news broke that Trump plans on attending the Georgia Bulldogs versus Alabama Crimson Tide football game on September 28th. As if a game between two SEC heavyweights needed any more reason to get media coverage, Trump just guaranteed they’ll get one.
The game will be played in Tuscaloosa, AL, and it marks the second time that Trump will visit the Crimson Tide’s stadium.

Most guys want just a few things in life: a family that loves them, a nice house, and a job that guarantees them $8.7 million a year.
But only a few of us ever attain that (especially the last part). Pittsburgh Penguins center and future Hall of Famer Sidney Crosby is one of those guys.
Earlier today, “Sid the Kid” and Pittsburgh reached a two-year contract extension that will pay him roughly 8.7 million per year. He was set to enter his franchise record 20th season in a Penguins uniform before this development, and this extension will guarantee that he adds to that record.

Team USA took home the Solheim Cup on Sunday, and the social media posts that followed were absolutely incredible.
Team USA ended its drought at the Solheim Cup as the ladies beat Team Europe 15.5 to 12.5. Lilia Vu made an epic putt that clinched the Cup, and the celebration was incredible. Her approach shot to just a couple of feet was such a great golf shot.
She came up clutch at the right time.
The Europeans made a valiant effort on Sunday, winning the session 6.5 to 5.5, but it was not enough to complete the comeback.
