Currently, college football does not have a commissioner. But James Franklin has just the guy for the job.
While speaking to reporters at Fiesta Bowl Media Day, the Penn State head coach nominated Nick Saban for the job of overseeing the entire sport. Franklin said the legendary Alabama coach is the “obvious choice” for leading college football in the right direction during this unprecedented era of NIL, conference realignment and the transfer portal.

The idea was simple: Give Garrett Wilson a good quarterback and his superstar potential would be fully unlocked for the New York Jets. Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that quarterback is Aaron Rodgers.
Despite the struggles the Jets had at quarterback in Wilson’s first two seasons, the former Ohio State star recorded 1,000+ yard receiving seasons in each of his first two years. It’s likely that he’ll reach that plateau again in 2024-25, but he hasn’t exploded with Rodgers at quarterback like many thought he would.

The Packers face the Vikings in Minneapolis on Sunday. We break down what the game means for the NFL playoff picture.
The NFC North is perhaps the scariest division in football, with all of the Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, and Green Bay Packers boasting double-digit wins. Given that, the division itself is still up for grabs, though al three teams have already secured a spot in the postseason. The only question is where that spot will be exactly.

The Dolphins face the Browns in Cleveland on Sunday. We break down what the game means for the NFL playoff picture.
The Miami Dolphins have been on the cusp of elimination for the past few weeks, but they’re still technically in the playoff race, at least going into Sunday’s slate of games and following Week 17 matchups on both Thursday and Saturday. A big win over the 49ers in their last outing gave them a boost, but they still have an uphill battle toward making the postseason for the third consecutive year.

Trent Baalke is in just his fifth season as the general manager of the Jacksonville Jaguars, yet at least one very passionate fan has had enough of him in Jacksonville.
Ahead of kickoff for the Jags’ home game against their fellow 3-12 Tennessee Titans on Sunday afternoon, a plane was seen flying around EverBank Stadium with a banner attached to the rear of it that read “Shad – Fire Baalke! For Duval!”
The message was, of course, intended for Jaguars’ owner Shad Khan to fire Baalke.
