We’re down to four teams after a suspenseful weekend of divisional round games in the NFL.
The two No. 1 seeds advanced, including the San Francisco 49ers, who had a tough time putting away the seventh-seeded Green Bay Packers. The top-seeded Baltimore Ravens dominated the second half against the Houston Texans.
Now the football public is getting Patrick Mahomes vs. Lamar Jackson in the AFC title game. But many can thank the Buffalo Bills for that quarterback matchup because they blew several opportunities in their heartbreaking loss against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Jason Kelce had so much fun in Buffalo on Sunday night. He got to do shots with tailgating Bills Mafia fans before the Chiefs-Bills playoff game. Then he ripped off his shirt for an epic celebration after one of brother Travis Kelce’s touchdowns in the game. And then after the game, he showed off a hilarious text his daughter sent about that celebration. 
Oh, and he also did something pretty sweet for a young Taylor Swift fan who was sitting in front of their luxury box at Highmark Stadium.

Here are some words that I honestly never thought I’d say in my entire life:
The Detroit Lions are one game away from playing in the Super Bowl for the Lombardi Trophy.
I’d be lying if I said everything since Sunday afternoon wasn’t a complete blur of adrenaline and emotions. As OutKick readers know, I’m a massive Lions fan, and as I wrote about last week, the journey has been a hard one.
There’s nothing beautiful about being a Lions fan. Nothing at all.

Patrick Mahomes led the Kansas City Chiefs to a thrilling 27-24, win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night, and then shortly after the game he had some fun taking a shot at a Bills player who might have talked a little too much trash before the game. 
Bills offensive tackle Dion Dawkins had talked earlier in the week about how Mahomes had never played a game with a crowd at Buffalo’s Highmark Stadium.
“Pat has never been to the Bills stadium in full,” Dawkins said. “The environment will be different, and not to say it’s in our favor, but stadium is our favor. Stadium is us.

California lawmakers cleared their first hurdle to ban tackle football for kids under 12 years old earlier this month, and future Pro Football Hall of Famer Rob Gronkowski isn’t upset about it.
The Assembly committee that regulates sports in the state of California voted 5-2 to send the bill to the full chamber, which is essentially just the second of four barriers the bill must get through. If the full chamber approves of it, it then moves on to the Senate before Gov. Gavin Newsom has the final say.

The tired argument about quarterbacks is back.
It’s 2024, but somehow football discourse has reverted to 2004. On Saturday both the Ravens and 49ers advanced to the AFC and NFC Championship games respectively, and with it moronic arguments about what the “right way” to play quarterback is.
This talk got boosted because of how differently Lamar Jackson and Brock Purdy play quarterback, with both teams winning on Saturday night.

The Buffalo Bills blew a golden opportunity to finally beat the Kansas City Chiefs in the postseason. Tyler Bass’s kick went wide right to set up an AFC title game between Patrick Mahomes’s Chiefs and Lamar Jackson’s Baltimore Ravens.
Bass’s missed field-goal attempt might have spelled the end of Stefon Diggs’s stint in Buffalo. Josh Allen and Diggs struggled to get on the same page for most of the 2023 season.

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell was in prime form Sunday night after punching a ticket to the NFC Championship.
Campbell and the Lions took care of business against Baker Mayfield and company 31-23, and a new era is officially underway in Detroit.
After decades of pain and disappointment, the Lions are roaring and four quarters away from a Super Bowl appearance.

Tickets to the NFC Championship game between the Lions and 49ers are unbelievably pricey.
The Lions punched their ticket to the conference title game after beating the Bucs Sunday and San Francisco did the same after beating the Packers Saturday.
Hype surrounding the game at Levi’s Stadium is off the charts, and for good reason. The 49ers, once again, are a game away from the Super Bowl, and Detroit is in the game for only the second time in franchise history.
