The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) discovered that ESPN committed “fraud” for over 13 years by submitting fake names to the credit list for the Emmys.
“Since at least 2010 … ESPN took the awards won by some of those imaginary individuals, had them re-engraved and gave them to on-air personalities,” reported The Athletic on Thursday.
ESPN awarded the trophies to front-facing figures on “College GameDay,” such as Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Chris Fowler, Desmond Howard, and Sam Ponder.

Tuesday was supposed to mark Aaron Rodgers’ last appearance on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ during the current NFL season, but with Nick Saban retiring and Bill Belichick parting ways with the New England Patriots in back-to-back fashion, Rodgers jumped on the show for a brief visit on Thursday.
McAfee announcing that January 9 marked Rodgers’ last appearance on the show for the NFL season was significant given the quarterback’s back-and-forth with Jimmy Kimmel over the last week or so.

The NBA is making plans to expand the league’s 2024 draft into a two-night event. However, the initiative still needs the approval of the National Basketball Players Association before becoming finalized, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. 
The draft would split its first and second rounds over two nights, scheduled for June 26–27. The event is expected to be held at Brooklyn’s Barclay Center, which has hosted the draft since 2012.

Former MLB infielder Bud Harrelson, a two-time All-Star with the New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies and Texas Rangers from 1965-80, died Wednesday night in East Northport, N.Y. He was 79.
“We were saddened to learn of Mets Hall of Famer Buddy Harrelson’s passing. He was skilled defender and spark plug on the 1969 Miracle Mets,” owner Steve Cohen and his wife Alex said in a statement. “Buddy was the third base coach on the 1986 World Champs, becoming the only person to be in uniform on both World Series winning teams.

Bill Belichick’s last New England Patriots press conference started with a joke, but it ended with one of the more awkward moments of the franchise’s recent history.
At noon on Thursday, the former Pats coach formally announced he was parting ways with New England, thanking the fans for their support over the last two decades and stoically telling reporters, “I’ll always be a Patriot.” 
Toward the end of the press conference, owner Robert Kraft shook Belichick’s hand at the podium and brought him in for a hug.
Belichick’s final words were, “Thanks, Robert.

Woods finally joined the ForePlay Pod and he gave out tips. However, it was his long-drive contest that caught everyone’s attention.
Tiger Woods finally made an appearance on Barstool’s golf podcast, The Fore Play Pod. He joined Riggs, Trent and Frankie on a golf course to provide some tips and have some fun.
Each of them had a specific part of their game they talked to him about, and by the time he got to Riggs, who wanted help with his driver, they decided to have a long-drive competition.
However, Woods didn’t just stripe it normally.
