Ahead of the 2025 Miami Grand Prix, one moment captured the hearts and minds of not just Formula 1 fans, but the drivers themselves.
The LEGO drivers’ parade.
Ten two-seater F1 cars, built primarily out of LEGO blocks, waited for the drivers ahead of the race, one car for each team. What ensued was pure chaos, and a moment that the drivers themselves truly enjoyed. “It was so much fun!” explained Williams driver Alexander Albon to me during our interview last season following the race.

The NBA is looking to speed up the flow of the game, and is tentatively planning to take a page out of the NBA G-League’s book to make it happen. The NBA made an announcement on Thursday that it would test out the “one free throw rule” during the 2026 Summer League, gauging whether or not it should become a staple of the NBA.

This might sound extremely confusing at first glance, so let’s break down how this would work. During the passage of a normal game (i.e.

I think someone in the Orlando Magic‘s front office is a Michigan State basketball fan. Last year, the Magic had three former Spartans on their NBA Summer League roster in Jaden Akins, Marcus Bingham Jr., and Jase Richardson. This year, Jase Richardson will be back on the team, and he’ll be accompanied by his controversial former teammate, Tre Holloman.
MSU fans probably don’t need me to remind them that Holloman, once a beloved member of the Spartans, stunned Michigan State fans by transferring to NC State for his final season.

The Nationals and Orioles linked up for a pretty minor trade last night. Paul Toboni acquired the recently DFA’d Kyle Nicolas in exchange for minor league infielder Randal Diaz. However, this trade has deeper significance because it is the first time that the Nats and O’s have ever made a trade together.

Alex Ovechkin, the NHL’s all-time leading goal scorer, will return for a 22nd season with the Washington Capitals, the club announced on Thursday.
The Capitals said in a statement that the Russian great has signed a one-year contract with an average annual value of $4.25 million.
“I’m back!” Ovechkin said in comments posted on the Caps website. “Thank you to everyone for giving me and my family the time to make this decision.

NBA free agency is in full swing, but the best player available remains unsigned. Former Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has his sights set on a new franchise next season, and various teams are already reportedly lining up to sign him.
Given James’ penchant for hijacking the news cycle, could that decision come July 4? The holiday doesn’t often feature major sports stories, giving James a chance to dominate coverage if he makes his announcement on that day.
There’s some precedent for James switching teams around the date.

Matters began on Thursday and not long after they did was Jordan Spieth in a Jordan Spieth™ sort of situation.
