Dallas Mavericks rookie Dereck Lively — a key to the Mavs’ success in the Western Conference finals — took a nasty knee to the back of the head, with major questions surrounding the center’s return.
Lively absorbed the knee from Minnesota’s Karl-Anthony Towns during a secondvquarter rebound attempt. The rookie was on the ground when KAT went for the board, hitting Lively on the way up. Teammates huddled around Lively as he lay on the ground for a few minutes, evidently shaken up.

New York goaltender Igor Shesterkin made 34 saves in a memorable performance, and the Rangers outlasted the Florida Panthers 5-4 in overtime on Sunday afternoon, securing a 2-1 series lead in the Eastern Conference finals with Game 4 on Tuesday night.

A statue of MLB icon Jackie Robinson is close to being fully rebuilt after vandals cut down the Wichita park memorial piece in January.
Community members were shocked to find the Robinson statue, located in Historic McAdams Park, cut at the ankles and disposed of in a nearby dump.

League 42, which first built the statue in 2021 to commemorate the legendary Brooklyn Dodger, said the organization was focused on replacing the $50,000 piece. With a recent update, the statue is nearly 100% restored.

The Indianapolis 500 started late, and we were up against the clock, but man, oh man, was it worth the wait.
A race of attrition that saw a lot of drivers bowing out thanks to both crashes and mechanical issues, and also saw 16 drivers lead at least one lap.

But the most important lap to lead is the last one and the man to do that? For the second year in a row — making him the first driver to go back-to-back at Indy in two decades — Josef Newgarden.

Donald Trump made history on Sunday afternoon simply by being a fan of NASCAR.
The Charlotte Motor Speedway in Charlotte, NC hosted the Coca Cola 600 over the weekend, which is one of the biggest racing events in the sport’s calendar. But today’s event held a little extra significance thanks to the appearance of the 45th president.
Trump flew into Charlotte to watch the race, and in doing so became the first Commander-in-Chief – past or current – to attend the race.
Upon arriving, he waved to the crowd, who roared in applause.

Riley stayed strong on Sunday to defeat World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler by five strokes and win the Charles Schwab Challenge.
Not only did Davis Riley hold off World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler to win the Charles Schwab Challenge, he won the event by five shots.
Scheffler struggled off the tee throughout the fourth round, so he could not challenge Riley much. The 27-year-old did not play his best golf but avoided massive disasters.
Riley carded an even-par 70 round on Sunday to finish at 14-under overall. He made four bogeys and four birdies on his day.

Sunday’s game between the Red Sox and Brewers featured seventh-inning, bench-clearing action after a pitcher and coach got tangled up in a dispute.
Red Sox pitcher Chris Martin had words for Brewers first base coach Quintin Berry, setting off a heated altercation. In the footage, Berry looked incensed based on something Chris Martin uttered under his breath. The Boston pitcher plainly admitted that he may have thrown unsavory comments.
Players from both dugouts poured in, and the two sides were separated, with (surprisingly) no punches thrown.
