Former Washington State quarterback Cameron Ward, one of the most coveted players available in the transfer portal, is calling an audible and turning pro.
The ex-Cougars standout announced his intent to declare for the 2024 NFL draft on Monday in a social media post.
Ward had been linked to Florida State and Miami as possible transfer destinations, but the 21-year-old quarterback will instead head to the NFL.

In two seasons with the Cougars, Ward completed 65.

Pat McAfee has become one of the biggest stars in sports media over the last handful of years due to his genuine authenticity. The former NFL punter is just a normal guy which makes him a wildcard in today’s media landscape and his personality was on full display when he interrupted Rece Davis during Monday’s edition of College GameDay.
In what could very well be the funniest moment in the show’s almost 40-year history, Davis began introducing a segment about Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe and the phrase ‘LANK.

Actor and Texas Longhorns super fan Matthew McConaughey posted a passionate speech to his alma mater ahead of its Sugar Bowl matchup against the Washington Huskies on Monday, and it didn’t disappoint.
The No. 3 Longhorns (12–1) and No. 2 Huskies (13–0) will match up in New Orleans in the College Football Playoff semifinals Monday night with their eyes on a berth in the championship game next Monday in Houston.
“What do we gotta do? Hey, Longhorns, we play in big games well. Good. We better,” McConaughey said.

Ahead of the final week of the season, these eight teams control their playoff fate
The final week of the NFL regular season is upon us, and Week 18 is shaping up to be one for the ages.
Five playoff spots are up for grabs in the final week — three in the AFC and two in the NFC — and a number of division winners are still to be decided. We will break down the full list of playoff and elimination scenarios later in the week, but right now we can take a quick look at the eight teams that “control their own destiny.

The Kansas City Chiefs got the bounce-back win they were looking for Sunday, beating the Cincinnati Bengals, 25–17, at Arrowhead Stadium.
The Bengals were again without their star quarterback, Joe Burrow, who had his season come to an abrupt end after he tore a ligament in his wrist back in Week 11.
Burrow, however, was on the sideline for Sunday’s game in Kansas City, and moments after the final whistle, he was seen sharing some classy moments with Chiefs stars Travis Kelce and Chris Jones.

The Washington head coach turned the program from a 4-8 team to a College Football Playoff contender in two years.
Every Athletic Director wants to hit a home run when they hire a football coach. The outcome is typically the defining product of the AD’s tenure, for better or worse. Of course, there is no simple formula for what will make a candidate successful in a big-time college football job.
Many questions arise for an athletic director when making a potential career-defying hire.

Tony Romo and Jim Nantz were on the call for CBS in a late-afternoon matchup in Week 17 between the Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs. The game wrapped up Sunday evening, and as the Chiefs pulled out a 25–17 victory, thoughts turned to the impending new year.
This included Romo and Nantz, who then proceeded to embrace in a new year’s hug, which ultimately proved to be incredibly awkward.

Tom Brady is just one NFL offseason away from making his long-awaited debut calling games for Fox Sports, but legendary sports broadcaster Bob Costas thinks the former quarterback would be better served in another role.
During a recent interview with the New York Post, Costas shared that he thinks the network should use Brady as an in-studio analyst.
“They didn’t ask me, and I don’t expect them to, but if I were running it, I’d use him in the studio rather than on games,” Costas told the Post.
When asked why, Costas expounded.

The Miami Dolphins fear that star linebacker Bradley Chubb tore his right ACL during garbage time in the team’s blowout loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, according to ESPN’s Marcel Louis–Jacques. Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel didn’t offer a diagnosis after the game, but it was a heartbreaking scene in real time.
With the Ravens sitting at a comfortable 49–19 lead with a little over three minutes to go in the fourth quarter, Chubb tried to tackle running back Melvin Gordon and went down with a noncontact injury and appeared to be in excruciating pain on the ground.
