Major League Baseball has imposed a number of significant changes to the sport over the past few years. The most notable being the pitch clock to reduce game times, but other rule tweaks included limiting mound visits and defensive shifts, as well as increasing the size of the bases to encourage more stealing.
2023 was the first test of the new pace-of-play changes, and early returns were promising. Game times dropped dramatically, but without lessening the amount of action plays in each game.

The Kansas City Chiefs didn’t wait long to bolster their offense in the 2024 NFL draft last week, trading up to select Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy with the No. 28 pick.
Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was elated when he learned about his team’s choice.
“It’s looking like [quarterback Patrick Mahomes] has another extremely fast man to throw the ball deep to,” Kelce said on the latest episode of the New Heights podcast.

Denver Nuggets forward Michael Porter, Jr. has been dealing with issues related to his brothers for the past few weeks.
MPJ’s brother, Jontay Porter, received a lifetime ban by the NBA for betting on games.
Shortly after the groundbreaking ban, brother Coban Porter received six years in prison for a fatal drunk-driving incident.
Fast-forward several weeks, and now, 20-year-old Jevon Porter — MPJ’s younger brother and former Pepperdine basketball standout — deals with his arrest in Boone County (Mo.) after Missouri State Highway Patrol members stopped Jevon for speeding.

Player dropped a bomb regarding Tiger Woods’ career and how changes prevented him from winning more majors on the PGA Tour.
Gary Player joined the German KW Golf YouTube channel to discuss various topics, including his health, fantastic golf courses, exercise, golf coaches and the difference between pros and amateurs.
But most interestingly, he voiced his opinion on Tiger Woods’ career and how the Big Cat’s choices saw him underachieve, relatively speaking of course.
Starting at 8:45 in the video, Player dropped the microphone.

Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey stole the show Tuesday night, scoring seven points in the final 25 seconds to force overtime and eventually defeat the New York Knicks in Game 5 of their first-round playoff series at Madison Square Garden.
But on Wednesday, the NBA revealed in its Last Two Minute Report that one of Maxey’s game-changing plays in the final minute shouldn’t have counted. He traveled before launching a three-pointer from 25 feet with 25 seconds remaining.

PSG was held scoreless during the first leg of its UEFA Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday, as the team failed to put one past Gregor Kobel during what was a 1–0 defeat.
During the 52nd minute, the Parisian side was left in despair after a series of excellent looks on goal from Kylian Mbappé and Achraf Hakimi ricocheted off either post.
Mbappé opened things up with a beautiful shot that got past the extended reach of Kobel but deflected off the far post.

Baseball fans were blessed with a brawl Tuesday night, which led to a handful of suspensions being handed down on Wednesday. Players on the Tampa Bay Rays and Milwaukee Brewers, including a manager, received suspensions over an eighth-inning, benches-clearing spat featuring punches!
Tensions began rising in the sixth inning when Milwaukee pitcher Freddy Peralta plunked Tampa’s Jose Siri, facing a 3-0 count.
Two innings later, Brewers reliever Abner Uribe got testy with Siri. The players started jawing at each other after Uribe traipsed to first as Siri grounded out.
