The first major weekend of college football is in the books, and we were treated to a number of fantastic games, with a few upsets thrown into the mix.
From Gainesville up to Tallahassee, all the way over to College Station, you all had a number of questions for the mailbag, so it’s time to dive into the fray.
Trey, appreciate you taking the time to read this. Does Billy Napier make it the full season at Florida. We’re sick and tired of this nonsense and I don’t know if he’s the guy anymore. Thanks and I hope you make the trip down.

Jason Stacy, the fitness coach of two-time Grand Slam winner Aryna Sabalenka, was spotted wearing an ‘XX-XY’ hat at the U.S. Open. In other words, Stacy supports the idea that transgender athletes – biological men – have no place in women’s sports.
The XX-XY Athletics brand was founded by former Levi’s president Jennifer Sey earlier this year with the mission of protecting women’s sports and spaces. Sey wrote an op-ed for OutKick in June about the company and what it stands for.

The headlines are blaring that Denver Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain II has agreed to a new contract that simply resets the market at his position with its whopping numbers.
The numbers: A four-year extension worth $96 million.
The deal includes $77.5 million in guaranteed money.
So, Surtain, about to start his fourth NFL season, is officially the highest-paid cornerback in the history of the game.
He’s averaging $24 million per season on an annual average basis.

Legendary work in the field of mediocrity.
Every team has its good draft classes and its bad ones. Times where organizations unearth diamonds in the mid-rounds, years a key player fell into their laps, and occasions where they totally whiff on a first round pick. Once in a great while you might land a legendary class that nets multiple starters with a couple of Pro Bowlers, and as difficult as it is to hit that well in the draft, it’s equally impressive to find a way to screw the process so completely you wind up with nothing.

Former NBA superstar turned broadcasting superstar Charles Barkley has never been shy about his opinion on Caitlin Clark and the WNBA.
Barkley, like anyone who thinks rationally and reasonably, understands that Clark is the biggest star in WNBA history and there is no close second. In fact, her impact on the league is one of the largest of any single athlete on any single league, ever.
WNBA ratings are up by hundreds of percent and arenas are selling out – including NBA arenas when Clark comes to town – nightly.
These things did not exist before Clark.

LIV Golf released the dates for its first four tournaments in 2025, which shows that it is far from aligning with the PGA Tour.
LIV Golf has released the first part of its 2025 schedule, with four events in February and March across the Middle East, Asia, and Australia.
The biggest takeaway from this news is that a deal between the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), LIV Golf’s funders, and the PGA Tour, looks nowhere near imminent.
