Bernhard Langer will miss his first Masters since 2011 thanks to an Achilles injury he recently suffered.
In early February, Bernhard Langer suffered a torn Achilles, forcing him to skip out on Augusta National for only the second time since 1983.
But earlier this week, on the ‘Musings on Golf’ podcast, Langer revealed how he tore his Achilles.
“I play all sorts of sports to stay fit, and this was part of my fitness regime,” Langer explained.

The College Football Playoff is set to expand to 12 teams in 2024, but it appears that next season’s expansion may not be the end of its growth.
The 10 conferences that comprise the FBS level and Notre Dame have agreed to a contract that is expected to expand the CFP to 14 teams in 2026, according to a Friday afternoon report from Heather Dinich and Pete Thamel of ESPN.

During the second round of The Players Championship, Scottie Scheffler received treatment for what appears to be an ailing neck.
Scottie Scheffler was in some pain during the second round of The Players Championship.
Walking up the par-4 12th, his third hole of the day, Scheffler stopped and spoke with a rules official while rubbing the back of his neck.
He asked the official if he could receive some Biofreeze, according to Sean Martin of the PGA Tour.

Lakeland, Fla. – Go ahead. Admit it. You had no idea Tarik Skubal of the Detroit Tigers was the toughest starting pitcher to hit last year. He still is nowhere on your radar when it comes to potential breakout stars of 2024—maybe even Cy Young Award contenders.
Be forewarned. Overlook him at your own risk, which is pretty much what the baseball industry has done up to now.
Skubal is a 27-year-old lefthander from Kingman, Ariz., a small town in the northwest corner of the state better known for its turquoise lode and its kitschy status as the heart of Route 66 than as a baseball factory.

Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald on Friday announced his retirement after 10 seasons in the NFL.
In doing so, Donald cemented himself in some very rare company.
The Rams star made the Pro Bowl in every season he was in the league, joining Pro Football Hall of Famer and Detroit Lions legend Barry Sanders as the only players in NFL history to play at least 10 seasons and get selected to the Pro Bowl in every year, per ESPN.

We’re bringing back the Friday Tip Sheet for this week, with one thought on all 32 teams after the first way of NFL free agency. Let’s go …
• The San Francisco 49ers still have some moves left in them but getting younger and cheaper and swapping out Arik Amstead—who’s been a great foundational piece for them—for Maliek Collins was a good start. Collins is disruptive, and should be a fit next to Javon Hargave attacking upfield with San Francisco’s defensive line.

Two dates Los Angeles Rams fans will remember: Today, March 15, 2024 because Aaron Donald has just announced he is retiring and that means one of the franchise’s all time greats is done playing. And five years from now, when Donald is selected as a first-ballot inductee into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
That’s how seismic the early afternoon announcement from one of the NFL’s greatest truly is.
