History suggests Real Madrid hold massive advantage over Bayern Munich
As Real Madrid prepare for yet another blockbuster UEFA Champions League clash against Bayern Munich, history leans in favour of the Spanish giants and not by a small margin.
This fixture has long been one of Europe’s most iconic rivalries, producing unforgettable nights and dramatic comebacks.
But as the latest chapter approaches, past encounters suggest that Real Madrid hold a psychological and statistical advantage, especially at home.
Eduardo Camavinga wants to remain at Real Madrid
On Monday, L’Équipe reported that Eduardo Camavinga (23) could leave Real Madrid this summer. However, as per a report from Florian Plettenberg, the Frenchman’s clear preference is to remain at the Bernabeu.
Camavinga’s place in the France squad is being called into question ahead of the World Cup, and his future at club level is also looking increasingly uncertain. Over the weekend, he was the first player hooked by Los Blancos as they went on to lose to RCD Mallorca – a result that may spell the end to their La Liga title bid.
The Champions League Quarterfinals are here! Real Madrid host Bayern in the first leg and Los Blancos need to bounce back and show they can still win a trophy this year. Beating Bayern over two legs will not be an easy task, so Madrid will need a quality performance from their star players.
PREDICTED LINEUPS
Real Madrid predicted XI: Lunin; Trent, Militao, Rüdiger, Fran García; Tchouaméni, Valverde, Thiago Pitarch, Güler; Mbappé and Vinicius.
Bayern Munich predicted XI: Neuer; Stanicic, Upamecano, Tah, Laimer; Kimmich, Pavlovic; Luis Díaz, Gnabry, Olise; Kane.

Sébastien Desabre: the new “White Wizard” of the Leopards
Behind the spectacular resurgence of the Democratic Republic of Congo’s national team, there is one name: Sébastien Desabre. At 49, the French tactician embodies this new Congolese momentum, patiently built far from the spotlight and flashy announcements.
Before being the man of the present, Desabre is above all a man of the journey.
David Lynch: Liverpool have already made one correct transfer decision this summer
Mohamed Salah exit backed as right call for Liverpool and player
Liverpool’s uncertain season under Arne Slot has brought several big decisions into focus, and on Anfield Index’s Media Matters, Dave Davis and David Lynch discussed one of the most significant, Mohamed Salah’s expected departure.
While emotional for supporters, Lynch’s analysis was clear and grounded in performance, evolution and long term planning.
Kolkata Knight Riders captain Ajinkya Rahane found himself under intense scrutiny after opting to bat first against Punjab Kings in their IPL 2026 clash at Eden Gardens, a decision that drew sharp criticism from several former cricketers.
With rain forecast and conditions heavily favouring bowlers early on, many expected the captain winning the toss to field first and take advantage of the uncertainty. Adding to that, Eden Gardens has historically not been the easiest venue to defend totals, making Rahane’s decision all the more surprising.

📽 When prime Messi destroyed Arsenal
The Champions League is back this Tuesday. What better way to get in the mood than with an unforgettable memory. Almost exactly 16 years ago, Arsenal held Barcelona to a draw in the first leg (2-2) of the quarter-final. In the return leg, Messi put on a show with a crazy four-goal haul.
CR7, yet another surprising stat 😯
Did you know? CR7 has scored against goalkeepers from all over the world, but also of all ages.

A way-too-early Top 25 takes on a new meaning in the transfer portal era.
With the portal scheduled to open Tuesday, just hours after Michigan’s win over UConn in Monday’s NCAA championship game, nothing is close to set in stone for start of next season.
But there are indicators as to who has a head start in the race for next season’s national championship.
We know who’s definitely and most likely leaving from every roster, whether they’re seniors or underclassmen bound for the NBA Draft lottery.

Everton scouting Southampton midfielder Shea Charles
Everton are interested in Southampton star Shea Charles, according to the Daily Mail. The Toffees are scouting the 33-cap Northern Ireland international.
Everton need a new defensive midfielder this summer, with Idrissa Gana Gueye getting on in age and Tim Iroegbunam struggling to impress.
Also, Everton could be competing in Europe next season and need enough hands on deck.
The highly-touted Charles fits the profile of the ideal successor to Gueye in the Everton engine room. His ability to evade pressure is remarkable.
Harry Kane is vying to become the first British Ballon d’Or winner for 25 years [Getty Images]
No player in Europe comes close to matching Harry Kane’s goalscoring record this season – but could an untimely ankle problem scupper his Ballon d’Or chances?
The Englishman has scored 53 times in 45 appearances for club and country this term but knows goals alone won’t be enough to land the award, which is why he will be desperate to be fit for Bayern Munich’s crunch Champions League game against Real Madrid on Tuesday (20:00 BST).

The NBA’s 65-game rule has its share of critics, but for now, it isn’t going anywhere. Cade Cunningham, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Nikola Jokic and other stars will need to play at least 65 games to be eligible for awards such as MVP and All-NBA honors.
With all three missing time this season, it could be a close call for each.

As the coach of Florida Atlantic, he led the Owls to the school’s first Final Four appearance and was one rim-bounce away from the program’s first championship appearance. Now, he has led the Michigan Wolverines to their first title since 1989.
Michigan won their second national title by becoming the first team since 2009 to beat UConn in the Sweet 16 or later.

It wasn’t Andrew Painter’s best start. It just wasn’t. In the four-inning, 90-pitch outing for the rookie right-hander, there was bad command, which led to hitters’ counts and good swings from the Giants offense.

The Pittsburgh Pirates had been playing mostly clean baseball up to this point but reverted to last season’s ways in a sloppy 5-0 loss to the San Diego Padres at PNC Park on Monday night, ending their five-game win streak.
Top 4th, 1-0 SD: Nick Castellanos doubled home a run off Bubba Chandler for his second hit of the game to break a scoreless tie.
Top 5th, 3-0 SD: Jackson Merrill doubled over the head of Bryan Reynolds in left field on a ball that looked like it potentially could’ve been caught.
Jared Weiss: Victor Wembanyama (left rib contusion) has been ruled out for the rest of the night by the Spurs after he took a fall in the first half. He played 16 minutes, so this counts as one of his two “near-miss” exemptions to the 20-minute threshold on the 65-game rule.
