Collisions are a regular part of hockey – between players. But when one happens between players and a referee, it’s far more serious.
That unfortunate scenario unfolded in a game Monday between the Philadelphia Flyers and the Colorado Avalanche.
Colorado forward Josh Manson was skating toward the blue line, and referee Mitch Dunning was skating away from a puck battle along the end boards. Dunning and Manson’s paths unfortunately crossed – with both men unaware of the fact that they were about to collide.

Only the mistakes of the Dallas Cowboys can make someone feel better about having a terrible Monday.
The Cowboys have been cursed since before Monday Night Football’s showdown against the Houston Texans when a piece of AT&T Stadium fell off and nearly hit people below. No injuries occurred.

On the field, Dallas faced more disaster, especially after they attempted a ‘fake punt’ on their side of the field (in the first quarter) to kick-start their Cooper Rush-led offense. And it failed. Miserably.

What would you do if you found out you were named the rookie of the year in the MLB?
I know if it were me, I’d jump around and scream so my neighbors could hear me. Bottles, tvs, and probably at least one bone would be broken from all the rambunctious and reckless celebrating I’d do.
But Paul Skenes took a far, far more measured approach to the announcement.
Cal Ripken Jr. announced on live TV that Skenes won the Jackie Robinson National League Rookie of the Year, and the Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher was at home with his girlfriend, Olivia Dunne.

The Cowboys’ plan to open the AT&T Stadium roof for Monday night’s game against the Texans was scrapped because a piece of metal fell to the field as the roof was opening more than two hours before kickoff.
Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes was named the National League’s Rookie of the Year on Monday, beating out a loaded field that included Jackson Merrill and Jackson Chourio, and New York Yankees starter Luis Gil won the the award in the American League.

Harbaugh has done nothing but build winners at every single one of his coaching spots, and the Chargers (7-3) appear to be next on his résumé.
This is one heck of a bad omen.
If you’re the kind of person who believes in art imitating life, or bad omens — well, AT&T Stadium has you covered.
A large piece of what appears to be sheet metal fell from the top of AT&T Stadium’s roof.
Thankfully, it didn’t hit anyone. #DallasCowboys pic.twitter.com/Cxw8uqbRHV

The Cowboys opened the roof of their stadium for the first time in over two years, and that immediately caused a massive piece of sheet metal to plummet from the rafters and crash into the ground below.

Dallas still hasn’t won a home game this season and Cooper Rush sure didn’t help matters last week.
Dallas was blown out at home once again and lost its fifth straight game overall, while Houston had a get-right game behind Joe Mixon’s three touchdowns.

Is the sky falling? Nope, that’s just the roof at AT&T Stadium.
The Dallas Cowboys are hosting the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football, and the franchise decided to open up the stadium’s roof for the first time in two years in honor of the Lone Star Showdown. At first, everything seemed to go along just fine.
However, much like the Cowboys season, things spiraled downward really quickly.
As the roof was opening, a giant piece of sheet metal fell from above onto the playing surface.
Opening the roof at AT&T Stadium before Monday night’s Texans-Cowboys game suddenly became dangerous.

This year’s Christmas Day festivities will come with a healthy dose of Beyonce. The NFL announced on Sunday that the music star will perform during halftime on Dec. 25 between the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens.
How did NFL fans react?
Of course, the Bey-Hive loved the league’s pick.
Actual football fans sounded lukewarm, at best, on picking Beyonce as a halftime performer.
The league continually does a good job of nabbing big-name talent but can’t stick the landing on finding the right tune for the real football’heads.

Who would have thought we’d see this happen? Who? Who?
The Florida Atlantic University Owls fired head coach Tom Herman earlier today after dropping to 2-8 this season and posting a 6-16 record in just under two years at the helm. Herman will receive $4 million in a buyout (who knew getting fired could be so lucrative?), and special teams coordinator Chad Lunsford will serve as interim head coach.
By itself, this isn’t really big news. But it has continued one of the wackiest trends in college football this season.
