Michael Irvin has some serious questions about last weekend’s Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight.
Irvin, who was sitting a few rows away from the ring, says that he had heard that contractually, Tyson was not allowed to throw any of his uppercuts to Jake Paul, which ultimately led to him losing via unanimous decision.
You mean that fight WASN’T 100% legitimate , Michael? Say it ain’t so!
“That fight was a lie,” the former Dallas Cowboys Hall of Famer said during an appearance on the ‘It Is What It Is’ podcast. “Everybody’s lying.

Bryson DeChambeau was on hand for what was the sixth test flight of Elon Musk’s SpaceX Starship rocket launch on Tuesday, and the two-time U.S. Open champion seemed to enjoy himself, to put it mildly.
DeChambeau shared a video of him reacting to the rocket launch in Texas, and outside of the fact that he looks as if he’s witnessing the most beautiful thing in the history of mankind, there are other aspects that need to be unpacked here.
For starters, that is President-Elect Donald Trump standing about three feet from him.

As any NFL season progresses, there will be more unheralded players who rise up from humble beginnings to become factors, and guys whose careers have gone sideways who somehow find the road back to relevance.
We like to celebrate these players every week in “Secret Superstars.

As expected, Linda McMahon has been nominated by President-elect Donald Trump to his cabinet. It’s a different position than the former WWE president was originally rumored for — Education as opposed to Commerce — but it’s arguably an even higher-profile assignment given reports that eliminating the federal Department of Education is a priority for Trump in his second term as President.
McMahon has been a Trump World fixture since Trump’s 2016 campaign for the nation’s highest office.
Chicago’s playoff chances are low right now. But if Brown and Williams can get pointed back in the right direction together — like they did last Sunday — it’d be invaluable to the Bears’ future.
It’s safe to say the Aaron Rodgers experiment with the New York Jets has been an absolute disaster.
As a Jets fan, I thought that when owner Woody Johnson brought in the future Hall of Fame quarterback two seasons ago that I’d be seeing my first Super Bowl. Hell, at the very least, I’d thought we’d be in the AFC Championship Game. Or the playoffs. Instead, Rodgers famously tore his Achilles during the first drive in his Jets debut, and it’s been downhill ever since.

Azzi Fudd, who missed all but two games last season after suffering a right knee injury in practice, is available to return to the No. 2 Huskies for Wednesday’s game.
Eagles edge rusher Bryce Huff is out for an undetermined recovery period because of a procedure scheduled for Thursday on his injured left wrist.
As we continue down this wild path towards the college football playoff, it’s becoming clearer by the day that the committee is winging this whole seeding process over the last few weeks. If you weren’t convinced of that as you listened to CFP chair Warde Manuel explain the reasoning why some teams are ranked higher than others, then you aren’t paying attention.
I have wondered aloud where strength of schedule would factor into the process for committee members sitting in a suite in Grapevine, Texas over the past month.

Steph Curry has a chance to surpass 4,000 career 3-pointers this season, and over the next few years, he could push the all-time record close to 5,000. In his mind, there might be only one active player who can catch him.
College football has seemingly discovered the 63-year-old Hoosiers coach through his quips and undefeated team. There’s more to his swaggering confidence.

This is what the media does: It speculates about people’s futures. And, I’m admittedly guilty at times, but when it comes to the future of Colorado coach Deion Sanders and quarterback Shedeur Sanders, no speculation is necessary.
They could both end up in the NFL next season.
But that is certain only under one circumstance: That they’re together. The coach, who happens to be the quarterback’s father, once again coaching his son.
That’s it.
That’s the only scenario that comes with certainty for the Sanders family.
Scott Pianowski revives his latest On Target column, examining the lack of receiving TDs for Trey McBride, what’s up with the new Bears offense and more.
The NHL Winter Classic is returning to Wrigley Field this season, making it the first repeat venue in the league’s marquee outdoor game’s history. It will feature a matchup between the Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues, putting one of the league’s biggest young stars, Connor Bedard, on one of the biggest stages.
Now, we know what both teams will be wearing when they hit the ice on New Year’s Eve (yes, the league learned their lesson from last year’s ratings debacle).

Our NBA writers weigh in on the most intriguing storylines of the season so far, from a surprise out West to a big disappointment in the East.
We have reached the penultimate weekend of the college football regular season, and the race for the College Football Playoff is as clear as mud. No. 1 Oregon has clinched a spot in the Big Ten Championship Game, but that is the only Power Four conference title game that has a participant set in stone.
The other participant is up in the air, but this weekend’s matchup between No. 5 Indiana and No. 2 Ohio State in Columbus will go a long way toward changing that. The winner will have to win next weekend, and it’s in. Simple.

Dalton Knecht may be on his way to NBA Rooke of the Year honors, and LeBron James is understandably fired up about that possibility.
Knecht was one of the most intriguing prospects in the 2024 NBA Draft class given his resume. After spending two seasons with Northern Colorado, where he averaged 20.2 points per game in year two, Knecht transferred to Tennessee where he was named SEC Player of the Year while averaging nearly 22 points and five rebounds per contest.
It was a small-ish sample size of Knecht getting it done at the highest collegiate level.

We need to start taking the Broncos seriously… what a world.
There is only a single week separating us from Thanksgiving Day which means that the football being played now is rather serious (unless you are the Dallas Cowboys).
NFL playoff pictures are starting to crystalize and we are beginning to determine which teams have legitimate chances at hoisting the Lombardi Trophy. On the other side of the coin teams continue to fire people left and right… today’s NFL is full of teams all across the spectrum.

Toni Storm is leaving pro wrestling. After losing the AEW Women’s World Championship to Mariah May at All In 2024, and following losses in both NJPW and CMLL, Storm told SB Nation in an exclusive interview (and in a style all of her own) that there’s nothing left for her in the sport.
Storm apologized to her fans for “being such a failure,” adding that they won’t be seeing her in AEW, NJPW, CMLL, or anywhere else in wrestling.

While boogie boarding with a friend, Harman explained that his son was pulled out by a rip current.

Dalton Knecht’s NBA dreams could have died so many times. Instead, he’s living his fantasy with the Lakers.
Dalton Knecht’s NBA dreams should have been over when he didn’t land a scholarship to his dream school, Colorado, coming out of high school in suburban Denver. He was forced to play JUCO ball the next two years, which eventually led to an opportunity at tiny Northern Colorado. Knecht failed to land a starting spot in his first year with the Bears. In his second, the team finished only 12-20 with Knecht as their leading man.
