IOWA CITY — Iowa football has officially announced Jay Norvell as its new running backs coach.
Norvell was recently hired as a senior anaylst, but got promoted following the departure of now-former running backs coach Omar Young.
Norvell, who played at Iowa, previously served as the head football coach for Colorado State and Nevada. He also spent time on the staffs at Arizona State, Texas, Oklahoma, UCLA, Iowa State, UNI, Nebraska, as well as in the NFL with the Oakland Raiders and Indianapolis Colts.

The NFL will partner with TMRW Sports to start a professional flag football league for men and women, the league announced Monday.
The flag league will launch with support from an investor pool that includes NFL clubs, established institutional and strategic investors and current and former NFL players. Former NFL players Peyton Manning, Joe Montana, Steve Young, Larry Fitzgerald, Tom Brady, Eli Manning, Justin Tuck, Ryan Nece and Dhani Jones, and current players Arik Armstead, Bobby Wagner and Russell Wilson are investing in the league.

According to Sky Italia, relayed by AreaNapoli, the Belgian international is currently communicating exclusively through his agent, Federico Pastorello. Despite being physically fit, Lukaku has remained in Belgium rather than returning to the Castel Volturno training center.

PHOENIX — So, we’ve heard Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry and Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman tell everyone Myles Garrett and A.J. Brown aren’t going to be traded. But the lukewarm, imprecise and equivocal manner the messages were delivered has become an issue.
And the issue is, it’s causing new speculation that two of the NFL’s biggest stars could indeed be traded at some point, even if it’s not necessarily soon.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is scheduled to rematch Manny Pacquiao on Sept. 19, for some reason, but what was originally expected to be a professional bout has now been downgraded to an exhibition match. In addition, handlers are still trying to find a suitable location.

Year two for quarterback Shedeur Sanders means a number change for the budding star. The Cleveland Browns‘ quarterback is making the move from No. 12 back to his college number, No. 2.
Sanders is typically the center of conversation, and he is again. As a fifth-round pick in his rookie year, Sanders was given No. 12 and stuck with it for the entirety of his rookie season. Now, heading into year two with a couple of starts under his belt, he is making the switch back to his college number, No. 2.

Nailing the right pick in the NFL Draft is only partly about talent. Team fit is so much more important to determining whether a player works or fails. The league is littered with stories of high-talent, poor-fit picks — particularly at quarterback, which result in stories like Sam Darnold or Baker Mayfield.

A breath of fresh air for Clemsonbasketball fans, Zac Foster is coming back for another year.
After a freshman season that was cut short by an ACL injury in December, the Clemson guard is set to return to the Tigers, giving Brad Brownell a key piece back in the backcourt heading into next season.
Before the injury, Foster had started to write himself out a real role on the team, appearing in 12 games and averaging 6.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. His ability to create off the dribble flashed early, and now Clemson gets that back with a full offseason to build.

Denver’s 116–93 win over the Golden State Warriors came off the back of a halftime shift that was easy to spot.
“You have to at least give the effort to the game plan,” head coach David Adelman said postgame.

Ever since his dismissal at Red Bull, rumors have persisted over a potential return to Formula 1 from former team principal Christian Horner.

There’s been a lot of consternation from Browns fans in the last week about the future of the best defensive player in the NFL, with the team making several curious moved with Myles Garrett’s contract which could hint to there being a trade.

Justin Gainey, who has spent five seasons as an assistant with Tennessee, is returning to NC State to be the Wolfpack’s next head basketball coach, sources told ESPN.

Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer does not have assurances that franchise-tagged receiver George Pickens will be in attendance for the team’s offseason program.

The Eagles and Patriots have been linked in trade speculation this offseason, but the two teams have not come together to make a deal this month.
They have been able to agree on something else, however. Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said on Monday that his team will hold joint practices with Mike Vrabel and the Patriots during training camp this summer. Those practices will take place in New England.
Sirianni’s announcement came during a session that also saw him echo General Manager Howie Roseman’s answer to questions about wide receiver A.J. Brown’s status.
