Phantom guard Marina Mabrey will miss the first 2-4 weeks of the season with a calf strain suffered during training camp.
Unrivaled — the new 3-on-3 professional women’s basketball league tipping off Friday — announced that Marina Mabrey sustained a right calf strain during training camp that is expected to keep her out of play for 2-4 weeks.
Mabrey, a member of the Phantom club, underwent an MRI at Mount Sinai with team physician Dr. Danica Vance, which revealed the strain. She will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

All throughout the 2024-2025 Major League Baseball offseason, it’s seemed like the New York Mets and Pete Alonso were heading toward a reunion.
The 30-year-old Alonso has only ever played for the Mets, and in an era where the power-hitting first baseman has never been less valuable, it seemed like New York would be where he’d have the most ancillary value. Especially with the Mets making the biggest splash of the offseason with superstar Juan Soto, pairing Alonso with Soto and Lindor would create a fearsome top of the lineup.

Hurricane Helene devastated Augusta National and the surrounding region but the course is ready for The 2025 Masters.
Hurricane Helene raced through Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas in late September, leaving nothing but a wasteland of destruction in the aftermath.
Its path included Augusta, Georgia, which saw countless homes, buildings, and essential pieces of infrastructure suffer extensive damage.

No one likes being the victim of a prank. Why, I still begin shaking with rage at the mere thought of the time I shook a clown’s hand and he got me with a joy buzzer.
Why did I shake a clown’s hand in the first place? His name was “Crackers” and it was a county fair; I wasn’t meeting some dignitary on official business… but I digress…
Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is no different than the rest of us (impressive football acumen and fingernail painting aside) and he was not happy about falling victim to a highly publicized prank call last week.

I had so much fun doing the first edition of “CBB With Danny Z.” last week that I thought I would do it again! College basketball is great because there are so many games that it’s nearly impossible to see every crazy thing that happens over the course of a week, which is exactly why I’m here.
Now, let’s dive into the second edition of “CBB With Danny Z.”
Things are not going well in Indiana. The once-great college basketball powerhouse hasn’t reached the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament since 2016.

Rest in Peace to the legendary Bob Uecker. MLB lost a star this week with the passing of the longtime Milwaukee Brewers sportscaster, who succumbed to illness at the age of 90.
For an incredible 54 seasons, Uecker, a Milwaukee native, brought an unmatched personality to the game of baseball.
Uecker’s charisma transcended the sport, as he also made his mark as an entertainer, appearing in films and TV shows.
According to reports, Uecker died at his home in Menomonee Falls with friends and family present — Uecker had been receiving treatment for small-cell lung cancer.
A new report is suggesting that Aston Martin is prepared to make a massive push to add four-time Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen to their books and the figures that are floating around are jaw-dropping.
Daily Mail put out a report that Aston Martin is already telling potential sponsors that Verstappen will be part of the team in the future.
That’s bold. That’s very bold.

Riviera Country Club will not host next month’s Genesis Invitational, the Signature Event hosted annually by Tiger Wods.
The esteemed Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California, will not host this year’s Genesis Invitational, the PGA Tour announced on Thursday.
The reason for moving this Signature Event is quite apparent: wildfires across the greater Los Angeles Metropolitan area have wreaked havoc on the region.

Aaron Rodgers made it sound Thursday like the Jets’ incoming new general manager and coach, not owner Woody Johnson, will determine if he’s back with the team in 2025.
Minnesota Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell met with the team’s ownership group this week and said Thursday that he wants to sign a contract extension to remain with the team.
Maverick Carter, LeBron James’ business manager, has been enlisted as an adviser by a group of investors seeking to raise $5 billion to form an international basketball league that would serve as a rival to the NBA, sources confirmed to ESPN.

ESPN drew widespread criticism earlier this month for not carrying the national anthem ahead of the Sugar Bowl, which was postponed a day following a deadly terrorist attack on the game’s host city of New Orleans.
The network also ignored the pre-game moment of silence for the terror victims and the subsequent chants of “U-S-A.”
ESPN publicly acknowledged the incident for the first time on Wednesday, when vice president Burke Magnus was asked about the decision on Sports Business Journal’s “Sports Media Podcast.

Brett Favre doesn’t think Aaron Rodgers should hang up his cleats just yet.
Rodgers is already a Super Bowl champ, a four-time MVP with the Green Bay Packers and a future Hall of Famer. But it’s no secret that the past two seasons with the New York Jets have been less than tremendous. He missed all but four snaps of the 2023 season (thanks to a torn Achilles) and managed to scrounge together only five wins for the Jets this past season.
But while a lot of people are calling for the 41-year-old to retire, Favre isn’t so sure that’s the right move.
It has been a scary situation out in Los Angeles with the wildfires that have raged over the last week or so, but it’s far from over, and now Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has revealed that his family was forced out of their home.
According to Daily Mail, James and his family have a $23 million mansion in the famous Brentwood neighborhood.
The NBA’s all-time leading scorer spoke to the media and offered his condolences to those affected by the wildfires.
“I have a couple of dear friends that have lost their homes in the Palisades,” he said.
