The Kansas Baseball program swept through the regional round of the NCAA Tournament to claim its first-ever appearance in an NCAA Super Regional. The Jayhawks are now just two wins away from the College World Series in Omaha.
This was the first baseball regional where Kansas held a national seed and earned the opportunity to host.

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Texas Tech softball team will be staying in the 2026 Women’s College World Series for at least another day.
The Red Raiders stayed alive by taking down UCLA 8-7 in another nine-inning thriller on Sunday night at Devon Park. Texas Tech now moves into the WCWS semifinals, where it will need to win two games on Monday to return to the championship series later this week.

Saint Mary’s bounced overall No. 1 seed UCLA from post play on Sunday. It took 15 hits and ten innings to beat UCLA. Their reward is a late game matchup against Cal Poly. The Mustangs have won 11 of their last 12 games. 
Cal Poly has already beaten Saint Mary’s in this postseason. That win put the Mustangs in the Regional.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is almost here, with the first matches set to take place on June 11, as Mexico and South Africa will square off at 3:00 p.m. ET and South Korea and Czechia will meet at 10:00 p.m. ET.
With several matches taking place at NFL stadiums across the country, some teams are replacing their turf with natural grass for the tournament before switching back to turf when the NFL games are played later on.

The Georgia Bulldogs won the Athens Regional with a 6-2 win over the Liberty Flames at Foley Field. Georgia went 3-0 in the regional with two wins over Liberty and one win over Long Island. Next up, No. 3 national seed Georgia will host the winner of the Starkville Regional in the super regionals.
In Georgia’s regional-clinching win over Liberty, the Bulldogs fell behind 1-0 in the first inning. Georgia’s bats were quiet to start the game and Georgia’s offense did not score until the bottom of the sixth inning when a Tre Phelps home run scored two.

Regional action in the 2026 NCAA baseball tournament is winding down, and by the time action on Sunday draws to a close, we could have most of the 16 spots in the Super Regionals locked in.
At least one regional will extend into Monday, due to the weather. Delays and postponements in the Tallahassee regional have pushed Game 6 of that bracket to Monday, and depending on how that game unfolds a double-header may be necessary to determine what team advances out of that bracket.
Whether we see more games on Monday depends on what happens on Sunday night in the various regional finals.

The No. 2 region seed Rebels (38-20) face No. 3 Arizona State (39-20) on May 31 (7 p.m., ESPNU) in the NCAA Tournament Lincoln Regional final.
Sophomore ASU infielder Landon Hairston has been suspended for the game. He was ejected in ASU’s 11-8 elimination game win over host Nebraska on May 31 after he flung his bat into the air after striking out on a called third strike.
