Do the Bengals have their best shot at a Super Bowl? Could the Texans pass on an extension for C.J.
Our reporters have the latest buzz on 32 contract extension candidates — one from every team — and their potential new deals.
When opposing defensive coordinators decide to bring extra pressure against the Los Angeles Rams, they think they are putting quarterback Matthew Stafford in a bind. In reality, they are usually just delivering the football right into the hands of Puka Nacua.
In 2025, Nacua has established himself as the premier blitz-buster in the NFL. According to Kyle Borgognoni of The Fantasy Footballers, Nacua averaged a league-high 37.0% targets per route run (TPRR) when Stafford was blitzed over 16 games together (Nacua missed one with an injury).

Before he has even stepped on the field for Washington State, Kirby Moore has continued to impress. Beyond his instant reliability as a Washingtonian who grew up attending games, Moore has already added some very intriguing recruits. However, none may be as intriguing or eye-catching than 4-star offensive tackle Rahsaun Lavata’i.

ESPN’s Jay Williams wants the NBA draft to be about the incoming rookies. But an uncomfortable interaction between him and fellow analysts Richard Jefferson and Kenny Smith became the story on Tuesday night.
Between the draft, Giannis Antetokounmpo being traded to the Heat, and the Knicks winning their first championship in 53 years, there was plenty to discuss on ABC’s broadcast, which is produced by ESPN.
Brighton & Hove Albion are working on a deal to sign midfielder Lia Walti from Juventus in a move which would mark her return to the Women’s Super League.
The 33-year-old has undertaken a medical and although the deal is not yet finalised, negotiations between the clubs continue to progress positively.
Walti was keen to return to England and Juventus were open to finding a solution despite only signing her from Arsenal on a two-year contract last September.

After not having a first-round pick last night, the Rockets will officially be on the clock tonight in the second round of the NBA draft.
Every year, it seems like second-round picks are traded in mega-deals to add a little bit of extra value to a trade, but every once in a while, second-round players can make an impact at the NBA level sooner rather than later.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles Sparks guard Kelsey Plum is out indefinitely with a lower left leg injury.
The team said Wednesday that she’ll be re-evaluated in four weeks, in which she’ll miss at least the next 10 games.
Plum missed three games with a right ankle sprain she sustained in practice earlier this season.
She is second in the WNBA in scoring with 23.9 points per game and sixth in the league in assists with 6.4 per game.
The Sparks (8-8) are 1-3 without Plum in the lineup.

The latest round of voting for the 2026 MLB All-Star Game was recently released, and while Shohei Ohtani unsurprisingly leads all players in votes, there is someone on the American League side who is just 300,000 votes away from matching the Los Angeles Dodgers superstar. The shocking part is that it’s not Aaron Judge or Yordan Alvarez, but rather Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Ernie Clement.
Move over, A’ja Wilson, because Indiana Fever fans are looking to knock you off your pedestal. Fever fans showed up in a big way in the second round of All-Star voting results, pushing two members of the team ahead of Wilson in the voting.
That would be Aliyah Boston and Caitlin Clark, who now sit No. 1 and No. 2 — respectively — in All-Star voting, the league revealed Wednesday.

Less than 24 hours after the NCAA Division I Cabinet approved a monumental change in eligibility rules, a group of 15 college basketball players filed a lawsuit in an Ohio state court claiming the new age-based model unfairly shuts them out of further competition.
The NCAA will now allow athletes five seasons of competition over a five-year period that begins with their full-time enrollment or the academic year following their 19th birthday, whichever occurs first.

The first round of the 2026 NBA Draft is in the books, and SB Nation draft expert Ricky O’Donnell graded every pick from the first round. A total of eight teams managed to nail the first round in his eyes, earning an A-grade or higher for their selections.
Grading was a blend of two factors: Where the player was on the NBA big board ahead of the draft, as well as the team fit.
Watch: Two men are making $50,000 to watch the World Cup, with nowhere to hide
The World Cup is ramping up with six matches scheduled each day until the end of the group stage, which makes tuning in something of a full-time job.
That is literally the case for Kevin Akoto and Austin Franklin, who are getting paid $50,000 (£37,800) each to watch all 104 World Cup matches.
The BBC caught up with the two football fans, just over a week into their roles as Fox One “Chief World Cup Watchers” to see what the experience has been like.

Thomas Tuchel has said he is not afraid to rotate for England’s game against Panama in New York, even though they run the risk of not topping their World Cup group if a weakened team fail to win.
The German was undecided whether he would have made 11 changes even if England had already secured top spot in Group L, but Tuesday’s 0-0 stalemate with Ghana means that if Tuchel’s team drop points, they could be overhauled by the winner of Croatia’s match against Carlos Queiroz’s side.

Every year, it feels like there is a player or two who come out of nowhere to be key contributors for the Oklahoma Sooners. Last season, that was EDGE Taylor Wein.
Wein had a great season, earning All-SEC honors. He finished the year with 39 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and seven sacks. Coming into the season, there was a real question mark at the EDGE spot opposite of R Mason Thomas. People were wondering if someone like Marvin Jones Jr., Adepoju Adebawore, or Danny Okoye would be the one to step up. But instead, it was Wein.

Harry Kane has denied that England are over-reliant on him for goals after they drew a blank in their World Cup stalemate against Ghana.
The captain missed the best chance of the 0-0 draw, blazing over the bar in the final minutes, but had helped England to a 4-2 victory over Croatia when he scored their first two goals of the World Cup.
Kane, with 81 international goals, has scored more than the rest of Thomas Tuchel’s squad have between them while, when he sat out the March games against Uruguay and Japan, England only scored one goal in 180 minutes.

Why Yan Diomande could be Liverpool’s next big attacking star
Yan Diomande has turned the 2026 World Cup into his personal market audition, and Liverpool cannot watch from a safe distance anymore.
His rise with Ivory Coast has made every touch feel expensive, drawing attention from betting sites as RB Leipzig already hold serious leverage.

Marc Stein: With Reaves now sure to stay in LA, as was long believed to be his clear preference, league sources say Detroit continues to express trade interest in Milwaukee’s soon-to-be acquired Tyler Herro. The Bucks are expected to listen to offers but could also elect to keep Herro.

Also, keep an eye on Buddy Hield. Only $3M of his $9.6M salary is guaranteed. The Hawks must make a decision by Thursday, per his contract. Hield, who has had interest in Heat in the past, averaged 7.6 points and shot 34.9 in 51 games for Golden State and Atlanta.

But it’s a decision that’s been made and now we got to move on from it. I wish him the best. Always have a fondness for Daryl. But Mike’s here and he’s in charge now and my job is to get this team better every day and that’s what we’re going to do.”
