The football gods once again provided us with another crazy Saturday of action that saw a myriad of upsets, wild finishes and students once again trashing fields, as we inch closer to the playoffs.
There was a good chance that we were headed towards some type of chaos this weekend, which usually happens as we get closer to the end of the regular season. Whether it’s rivalry games or matchups that will decide how conference championship weekend will play out, we had it all this weekend.
Instead of asking about the Maryland-Oregon football game he had just witnessed, a reporter decided to ask Ducks head coach Dan Lanning a political question during his postgame press conference. To no surprise, the question had an anti-Donald Trump tone, but Lanning handled the situation in true patriotic fashion.
Oregon improved to 10-0 on the year with its 39-18 win over the Terps on Saturday and will remain the top-ranked team in the country when next week’s polls are released.

College football’s disruptors — Deion Sanders, Lane Kiffin and Curt Cignetti — are changing the game. Things we didn’t dream of just a few months ago aren’t just possible. They’re reality.
Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova has expressed her dismay at “unprofessional commentary” after a prominent American tennis journalist mocked her appearance during television coverage.
It was Spinal Tap’s David St. Hubbins who once famously uttered the words “It’s such a fine line between stupid and clever,” and the same is true when it comes to becoming blooper reel fodder and throwing down a save of the year candidate like St. Louis Blues netminder Jordan Binnington did on Saturday night.
The Blues hosted the Washington Capitals (who went with the navy buckets and white jerseys.
There was a story that came out last week about an apparel store in Lubbock, Texas that mentioned Colorado did not want to be involved in selling shirts that had an American flag emblem on them promoting their game against Texas Tech.
The t-shirt that a store owner was trying to sell featured both team’s helmets, with an American flag in the middle – which was supposedly meant to promote patriotism.
MAGA patriots have not been accepting losses under any circumstances in recent days and that now applies to Nick Bosa, who seemingly is out $11,255 after being fined by the NFL for his support of President-elect Donald Trump and the MAGA movement.
A GoFundMe page has been started to pay Bosa’s fine for violating the NFL uniform and equipment rules by wearing a cap that contained the unapproved Make America Great Again slogan.
The fund has modest beginnings. But the prediction here is it will reach the goal of $11,255, which is exactly the fine amount levied by the NFL against Bosa.

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey is working his way back from Achilles strains in both legs. We break down the fantasy football implications for 49ers-Bucs in Week 10.
The San Francisco 49ers face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 10 and they could be getting a huge weapon back for their offense. Running back Christian McCaffrey is listed as questionable for the game but is expected to be active for the game.

The Eagles quarterback made a surprise appearance on the injury report before Week 10
One of the best rivalries in the NFL is the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys. While this one doesn’t have the hype that it normally would with Dak Prescott going on injured reserve this week, it will still be a big game for both sides. Since losing to the Buccaneers, the Eagles have since won four straight games. However with two division games in five days, the Eagles will need quarterback Jalen Hurts healthy.

Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr. listed as questionable vs. Vikings in Week 10
The Jacksonville Jaguars have had a disappointing season to say the least. Their collapse in the second half of last season has carried over into 2024 and they currently sit at 2-7. They are set to play the Minnesota Vikings in Week 10 who have been one of the better team this year and got back on track last week after losing two straight. The Jaguars will hope to have rookie wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. available in what will be a must-win game.

Utah AD Mark Harlan had some choice words for the refs in Saturday’s game against BYU, saying it was “stolen” from the Utes after the Cougars rallied to win 22-21.
LSU coach Brian Kelly took responsibility for Saturday’s blowout loss to Alabama, saying the Tigers “didn’t live up to the standards of LSU football.

The Cavs are forcing their way into NBA history with their undefeated start to the season.
LeBron James is long gone, but the Cleveland Cavaliers are once again looking like an NBA championship contender. The Cavs moved to 10-0 on the young season after blasting the Golden State Warriors on Friday night in a showdown of former rivals who have reinvented themselves to become elite once again. Cleveland is now the 14th team in league history to start a season with ten straight wins, and nothing about it feels like a fluke.

College football’s disruptors are changing the game, plus trends from Week 11.
So you thought Alabama was just going to disappear after that loss to Vanderbilt a few weeks ago? As LSU found out on Saturday night in ‘Death Valley’, the folks inside the football building in Tuscaloosa didn’t hear a fat lady singing on their season, as you could tell by the 42-13 beatdown that the Crimson Tide’ handed the Tigers.
Maybe it was LSU bringing in some type of rental tiger to sit in a cage for the entire game along the sidelines, or the fact that Jalen Milroe is one of the best quarterbacks in the SEC.
The Crimson Tide QB rushed for 185 yards and four TDs at Tiger Stadium to effectively end LSU’s College Football Playoff hopes.
Inter Miami suffered a stunning first-round elimination from the 2024 Major League Soccer playoffs after falling 3-2 against Atlanta United at Chase Stadium on Saturday night.
LeBron James and Anthony Davis were in attendance for Bronny’s start.
We’re inching closer and closer to the highly-anticipated match between boxing legend Mike Tyson and media personality-turned-pro boxer Jake Paul, and it is going to attract a heck of a lot of eyeballs.
