The New York Giants and quarterback Jameis Winston have agreed to terms on a two-year, $8 million contract, a person familiar with the deal told The Associated Press on Friday night.
The 31-year-old Winston joins Tommy DeVito as the only quarterbacks on the Giantsโ€™ roster. New York has been in the market in free agency for a veteran, with Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson also mentioned as possible targets.
The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the team didnโ€™t announce the deal. NFL Network first reported that Winston was joining the Giants.

The Broncos have hired Jeff Schmedding as their inside linebackers coach, Bruce Feldman of CBS Sports reports.
Schmedding will replace Michael Wilhoite, who the Broncos fired after his arrest on suspicion of second degree assault of a police officer. Isaac Shewmaker will serve as the team’s outside linebackers coach.
Schmedding has never coached in the NFL, but he has 21 years of experience in the college ranks.
He was fired from Washington State in December after two seasons as the Cougars’ defensive coordinator.

We’ve seen some merchandising and branding misfires in the last year or so with the infamous Texas Rangers “Tetas” hat and the Athletics’ notorious “ASS” hat, but I don’t know that I’ve seen a misfire like the one we got from Minor League Baseball‘s Chesapeake Baysox.
The Baysox are the Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles and they decided to do something that pretty much every single minor league club does, and that is to come up with a special alternate identity to use for a few games this season.

His second is off to a much better start, as he starts in pole position at the F1 Sprint Race at the Shanghai Grand Prix.
Hamilton admitted to being โ€œgobsmackedโ€ at securing P1 on Friday, as he nipped Max Verstappen to pole position along with his teammate Charles Leclerc, and a pair of very โ€œfastโ€ McLarens.
