Every year a handful of rookies from the first round of the NFL draft make an immediate impact on the field, leading to postseason appearances for their respective teams and prestigious individual awards.
Last year, it was Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner, the first rookie cornerback to be named first-team All-Pro since 1981. The year before, it was Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase and Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons.
This year likely won’t be any different with a few first-round rookies becoming difference-makers for their teams.

Speaking ahead of the Miami Grand Prix, both George Russell and Max Verstappen are ready to move on from Azerbaijan
One of the major Formula 1 storylines coming out of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix was the friction between George Russell and Max Verstappen both on the track, and off. The two came into contact early in Saturday’s Sprint race, and following the finish had a tense exchange trackside.
While their war of words continued into Sunday ahead of the Grand Prix, it seems both drivers are now ready to turn the page.

Churchill Downs has suspended horse trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. indefinitely after two horses he was training at the track over the last few days. The news comes after an investigation was launched into the death of the two horses.
Joseph was the trainer of Chasing Artie and Parents Pride. Both horses collapsed and died on the track Thursday and Saturday, respectively, after races at Churchill Downs.
Churchill Downs called the deaths of Joseph’s trained horses “unexplained.

Iowa State football player Aidan Ralph was arrested Wednesday on very serious charges.
The Cyclones linebacker has been charged with felony sexual assault and misdemeanor domestic violence after an alleged attack against a woman at his residence in Ames, according to ESPN.
Ralph allegedly accused the unnamed woman of cheating and shoved her multiple times, including onto stairs, according to the police affidavit (via the same ESPN report). The unnamed alleged victim allegedly fractured her spine during the altercation.

Men dominate women in competition pretty much every single time they’re matched up. Men are simply bigger, stronger and faster on average. It’s biology. You’d think Megan Rapinoe – a standout Olympic soccer player and NWSL player – would understand that better than most, but she doesn’t.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump is under the scope of a new round of subpoenas from the Department of Justice. Added to the investigation of Trump’s stored classified documents at Mar-a-Lago are records regarding his connection to the Saudi-backed LIV Golf League.
According to a report from The New York Times, the subpoena filed against the Trump Organization on Thursday is prodding Trump’s relationship with the “defector” golf league.
LIV Golf scheduled two of its marquee events at Trump courses in 2022.

A rough night turned worse for LeBron James on Thursday after the Lakers superstar received a rare technical foul following a frustrating sequence late in Game 2 against the Warriors.
With L.A. trailing Golden State big with under a minute left in the third quarter, James fired up a three-pointer with Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins closing out for the contest. After the shot clanked off the rim, James turned toward referee Pat Fraher to voice his frustration with an apparent no-call after it appeared Wiggins made contact with him on the shot.
