North Carolina’s starting pitching last year largely struggled due to injuries. 2025 ace Jake Knapp missed the entire 2024 season due to a UCL tear, while star freshman Folger Boaz was later shut down with an elbow injury.
Luckily, the Diamond Heels featured a shutdown bullpen with multiple stars. One of those top stars was Matthew Matthijs, who, at one point, led the entire NCAA in wins.

Detroit Pistons’ sharpshooter Malik Beasley finished second in 2024-25 NBA Sixth Man of the Year voting, the league announced on Tuesday.
The John Havlicek Trophy went to Boston Celtics guard Payton Pritchard, who had an impressive season in his own right for a team coming off of a championship season. 
It was a decisive win for Pritchard, who earned 82 out of 100 first-place votes and appeared on every ballot. Beasley was second with 13 first-place votes, and was left off of five ballots.

MUNCIE — Ball State women’s golf has an individual Mid-American Conference champion for the third time in program history, and she did it on the Cardinals’ home course at the Delaware County Country Club.
Ball State’s Jasmine Driscoll shot a 54-hole score of +2 (218) over three days from April 20-22. The junior from Sydney, Australia, beat out four other golfers who tied at +3 and earned a berth in the NCAA Regionals.
On Sunday, Driscoll made history by tying the lowest opening-round score in MAC Championship history with a -5 (67).

Just when you thought things were nearly complete with the transfer portal when it comes to Ohio State basketball defections, word comes down that forward Sean Stewart has entered the portal.
Stewart came to Columbus from Duke through the portal during last offseason, so his time in the Scarlet Gray will amount to just one season, one in which he and the team didn’t quite live up to expectations. The former five-star recruit averaged 5.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 0.6 assists in 18.4 minutes of play during last season. He appeared in 30 games.

On Tuesday, the Indiana Pacers welcomed WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark to Gainbridge Fieldhouse for Game 2 of their first-round matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks. 
Clark, who led the Indiana Fever to the playoffs in her rookie year, was there to support the Pacers as they aimed to extend their 1-0 series lead.
Even in the offseason, she can’t stay away from basketball.
At halftime, with the Pacers ahead 68-60, Clark energized the crowd by throwing shirts to dedicated Indy fans in the stands.
