SEATTLE (AP) — Danny Musovski scored a goal for the second consecutive game and Stefan Frei had eight saves Saturday to help the Seattle Sounders beat Nashville SC 3-0.
Pedro de la Vega and Paul Rothrock each added a goal and an assist for Seattle (3-3-3), which has just one loss in its last six matches.
After Rothrock played an entry from the left side, Ferreira’s one-touch shot was redirected by Musovski’s back-heel shot, deflected off the fingertips of goalkeeper Joe Willis and rolled into the net to give the Sounders a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute.

NEW YORK — The first three quarters were cute. The real Knicks stood up in the fourth.
The Detroit Pistons had the Knicks in the first half. They made things tough in New York with their combination of rough-housing centers (Jalen Duren and Isaiah Stewart), held Jalen Brunson in check through the first two quarters, and even took an eight-point lead into the fourth quarter, nearly their largest advantage of the opening round of the Eastern Conference playoff series on Saturday.
And then it happened: a 21-0 fourth-quarter run from the Knicks to blow the game wide open.
CHESTER, Pa. (AP) — Homegrown product Quinn Sullivan scored in the first half and Danley Jean Jacques and Tai Baribo added second-half goals as the Philadelphia Union breezed to a 3-0 victory over Atlanta United on Saturday night.
Andre Blake saved three shots in goal for the Union (5-3-1) to earn his third clean sheet of the season and put an end to the club’s three-match winless streak.
The Union grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 27th minute and took it into halftime on a goal by the 21-year-old Sullivan. It was his first goal this season and his 11th in 103 career appearance.

NEW YORK — The Detroit Pistons sat out six years, waiting for this NBA playoff moment. And for much of Game 1 of their first-round series against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, they were the better team.
The only problem: The Knicks erupted in the fourth quarter.
The Knicks rallied for a 123-112 win by using a 21-0 avalanche that spanned nearly five minutes, holding the Pistons scoreless and turning an eight-point deficit into an 11-point lead.
The Pistons completely fell apart and committed a half-dozen turnovers in the quarter, won by the Knicks, 40-21.
The Knicks pulled out a huge 123-112 win over the Detroit Pistons in Game 1 of their first round matchup on Saturday at Madison Square Garden.
Here are some takeaways…
– The Garden was rocking and the Knicks responded with a strong start on both ends of the floor. New York did a good job suffocating Cade Cunningham defensively, and three of their starting five found the bottom of the basket to open an early advantage.
– Landry Shamet was the first man off the bench, subbing in after Josh Hart picked up two early fouls.
The vibes were high, the crowd was loud, the colour was white.
And the home team got the win.
Entering the game with an NHL-best 116 points in 82 games, the Winnipeg Jets came out and took the first game of the opening round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs by a 5-3 final over the eighth-seed St. Louis Blues.
The Saturday night affair was the first scheduled game of the playoffs for any team, and it most certainly did not disappoint.
While the pre-game festivities honored Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders with their respective jersey retirements, the Colorado Buffaloes geared up to play in their annual spring game.
Colorado is facing position overhauls in multiple spots with the departure of Sanders and Hunter. With spring football wrapping up, Colorado’s scrimmage put a bow on an eventful spring for the program. It’s difficult to judge too much based on the spring game, which was mainly a 45-minute scrimmage followed by seven-on-seven drills.
