Day 2, and specifically the second round, has been a sweet spot for the New Orleans Saints when picking defensive backs. Since Jeff Ireland joined the staff for the 2015 NFL draft, the Saints have drafted a defensive back six times in Rounds 2 and 3 on Day 2. All of those players became eventual starters. 
Players such as Paulson Adebo and Marcus Williams were Day 1 starters. Kool-Aid McKinstry and Alontae Taylor are second round picks who will be starting this year, but the Saints need a cornerback opposite of McKinstry.

As the Titans ready to — presumably — select Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick on Thursday night, the franchise does have someone with recent experience in coaching a top quarterback.
Tennessee head coach Brian Callahan noted his experience with Cincinnati and Joe Burrow during Tuesday’s pre-draft press conference. Callahan was the Bengals’ offensive coordinator when they selected Burrow in 2020, holding the position from 2019-2023 when he was hired to take over the Titans.
