The drama around Maryland’s head coach during March Madness isn’t going away.
The Sweet Sixteen is finally here, as the No. 4 seed Maryland Terrapins are taking on the No. 1 seed Florida Gators at the Chase Center in San Francisco on Thursday night, looking to reach their first Elite Eight since their National Championship in 2002.
It’s been a great season for the Terrapins, who have built one of the strongest starting fives in the country with Ja’Kobi Gillespie, Rodney Rice, Selton Miguel, Julian Reese and Derik Queen.

Florida State’s Ta’Niya Latson will play her senior year elsewhere after leading the nation in scoring and leading the Seminoles to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Ta’Niya Latson is leaving Tallahassee, Florida.
The junior guard for Florida State will spend her senior season of college basketball elsewhere after entering the transfer portal on Thursday. SB Nation confirmed ESPN’s report that Latson — the nation’s leading scorer — will indeed enter the portal.
Latson averaged 25.

Antonina Shevchenko is done fighting professionally.
Antonina, older sister of UFC women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko, announced her decision to hang up the gloves in a lengthy Instagram post Thursday. This decision comes nearly three years after her last UFC outing.
“Dear friends!,” Antonina wrote. “I didn’t have the opportunity to leave my gloves in the octagon by tradition, I didn’t think my fight in UFC in 2022 would be the last. I am leaving my gloves in this post.

The Jets are adding a weapon for quarterback Justin Fields.
Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, New York has agreed to a one-year deal with receiver Josh Reynolds.
The contract is worth up to $5 million.
Reynolds, 30, split his season between the Broncos and Jaguars last season. He was a victim of a shooting in Denver in October, but was able to return to the field later in the year with Jacksonville. In nine games with the Broncos and Jaguars, he totaled 13 catches for 194 yards with a touchdown.

Ta’Niya Latson, the nation’s leading scorer during the 2024-25 women’s college basketball season, is entering the NCAA transfer portal.
According to a report from ESPN’s Andraya Carter, Latson is entering her name in the portal, three days after Florida State‘s season ended in the 2025 women’s NCAA Tournament at the hands of Kim Mulkey and LSU.
