Rory McIlroy is teeing it up in this week’s Texas Children’s Houston Open, which will be his final start before next month’s Masters, but before arriving in the Lonestar State, the four-time major winner made a quick stop at Augusta National to officially kickstart his prep for the year’s first major championship.
McIlroy will be making his 16th career start at the Masters in a couple of weeks, meaning that he’s more than familiar with the hallowed grounds, but Augusta National always makes changes to the course year after year.

Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider recently confirmed that defensive end Uchenna Nwosu underwent offseason surgery while making a radio appearance on Seattle Sports. Making a second appearance earlier this week, Schneider further clarified. Nwosu underwent surgery on his knee.
Nwosu suffered an MCL knee injury during last year’s preseason from a cut block by Cleveland Browns guard Wyatt Teller in the final exhibition game. Schneider downplayed the procedure, calling it a “little knee deal” before adding that he was “rehabbing like crazy right now.

The Philadelphia Flyers fired coach John Tortorella on Thursday with nine games left in another losing season for a franchise that hasn’t been in the playoffs since 2020.
The Flyers are last in the Metropolitan Division at 28-36-9 for 65 points under the notoriously brusque Tortorella. The Flyers suffered their sixth straight loss Tuesday, 7-2 to Toronto.
Tortorella, who won a Stanley Cup with Tampa Bay in 2004, said after the game he was not “really interested in learning how to coach in this type of season, where we’re at right now. But I have to do a better job.
