Scottie Scheffler will return to defend his title at the upcoming RBC Heritage. Scheffler headlined a star-studded initial field list for the $20 million signature event on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
Rory McIlroy, however, will not be competing at Harbor Town Golf Links. McIlroy normally doesn’t play this tournament but did last year, tying for 33rd, 12 shot back of Scheffler.
The field of 72 players will not be finalized until after the Masters Tournament.

Bernhard Langer got a standing ovation as he approached the 18th green at Augusta National Golf Club Friday afternoon, just in case this was the last time.
Langer, who won green jackets in 1985 and 1993, announced before this year’s tournament that it would be his last competing as a member of the field. But now he had a chance to make history on his way out.
Langer was attempting to regain his record as the oldest golfer to make the cut at The Masters.

The 6-foot-9 standout became the 60th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points.
In the midst of tension, Charlotte FCgoalie Kristijan Kahlina thrives.
“You can play 85 minutes – a great game, have amazing saves and make one small mistake, even a small one, and it can be decided that we will lose the game,” Kahlina told Channel 9′s DaShawn Brown.
Kahlina added, “For the goalkeepers…you need to concentrate on every small part of the game.
VALENCIA, Spain (AP) — Valencia beat Sevilla 1-0 to extend its unbeaten run to six games and leapfrog its rival into 12th place in La Liga on Friday.
The win came courtesy of a Javier Guerra strike in first-half stoppage time and followed the 2-1 win against Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium last week.
However, the result in front of 46,000 fans at Mestalla Stadium was a bitter one for Sevilla, which in the first half had a goal disallowed and a penalty award rescinded after a video review.

I was drawn to an article published by Forbes titled “How Angel Reese And A’ja Wilson Lead The WNBA’s Growth.” There’s nothing wrong with this title or this angle for a piece, or with most of the content in the article itself (more on that later).
Timeka Tounsel spent the first part of her article talking about how Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark has helped set viewership and attendance records for the WNBA, and how former UConn star Paige Bueckers figures to bring a lot of popularity from college with her to the pro level.
That all checks.
