The Washington Commanders hosted a local pro day for NFL draft prospects, and a notable name appeared on the attendees’ list.
Star Penn State safety Kevin Winston Jr was among the 34 prospects who attended the Commanders’ local pro day on Tuesday.

Winston Jr was a sure lock for the first round of the 2025 NFL draft before partially tearing his ACL in early September.

While the Pittsburgh Steelers continue to wait for a decision by veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the team is reportedly doing its due diligence on Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders. Sanders is viewed as the second-best QB in the 2025 NFL Draft after Miami’s Cam Ward. 
The news of a Sanders visit to Pittsburgh was initially reported by Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. 
It seemed to be confirmed by NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, who noted that the visit was “an interesting one.

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Matt Thurmond made sure to leave his phone behind on Monday at the Masters Tournament. This isn’t the Arizona State coach’s first time at Augusta National, but it is the first time he’s had a current player on the roster in the field. That would be Sun Devil senior Josele Ballester, the reigning U.S. Amateur champion.
Thurmond hadn’t planned on going to the Tournament Practice Area, but when he saw former ASU player Kevin Yu on the range, he wanted to say hello.
“I went out on the range without thinking, gave him a hug,” said Thurmond.

Prospect evaluation is about more than just production, measurables and traits. Scheme fit can play as much of a role whether or not a player will work out for a team.
This is even more prevalent with wide receiver prospects. How a receiver plays the position as well as what kind of routes he runs can dictate both his ability to play in the league and his role in a new offensive system.
Pro Football Focus’ Lauren Gray took this idea and applied to the 2025 receiver class to determine which players’ route trees fit best on which teams.
